Ukranian Air Force Il-76 'Candid' cargo plane has appeared at an Air National Guard facility attached to Salt Lake City International Airport. We now know that it has delivered an unspecified mobile radar system as part of a U.S. Air Force contract.
Online plane trackers first noticed the Il-76, of which the Ukrainian Air Force has around five in service in total, traveling westward from Ottawa/MacdonaldCartier International Airport in eastern Canada on the morning of Dec. 3, 2019. The Candid was on the ground in Salt Lake City before 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
If the radar does go to Hill, it would almost certainly find its way out onto the nearby Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR). It might also end up at the NTTR or TTR in Nevada or make appearances at various different sites, depending on the nature of the Air Force contract.
Regardless, the Air Force would be keen to fly various aircraft against it, including the stealthy F-35A Joint Strike Fighter. This gives the service an opportunity to see how well the radar can spot and track different targets. It also offers a chance to see how well the electronic warfare and other self-protection systems on any U.S. military aircraft handle the threat.

Damn old Mitch Rommy!
I cant wait.
“Let’s do the time warp again”
It’s one of the few oversized air lift assets for hire in the world I am not sure what the story is here? I see them all over in my traveling.
“Dec. 3, 2019” ooooohhh time machine too.

Get me the winning Powerball numbers for a few weeks, will ya? 4 weeks at $80 million a week.....:)
“We now know that it has delivered an unspecified mobile radar system as part of a U.S. Air Force contract.”
The story is not the plane, its the radar. The Ukranians have probably delivered a Soviet/Russian style mobile Radar to be used U.S. airplan testing.
Probably a radar system thst works with the s300/s400 systems. It would only make sense it was that level of radar system that we’d care that much about.
Wow. They did it on radar.
/but sneaking weapons into NV or UT military bases has never happened before.
Interesting that the flight in question took place IN THE FUTURE. December 3, 2019. That’s a year away. That Il-76 must be a Time Machine.
We are in trouble if we need radars from the ukraine. Maybe though they are just now returning it after the bush-obama globalist cia coup has been completed.
Very interesting. Thanks!
Since the 300—500 Russian systems use multiple radars working together, it would make little sense to have just one component of a very complex system. My guess is that it is a complete system with missiles - probably the latest 400 variant complete - gotten on the Russian military black-market.
Not an “Ekranoplan”. ;)
Nice to have friends. Thanks Ukraine!
Somebody was really thinking outside the box with that crazy thing.
