An old Indian chief was explaining his unusual way of naming his sons and daughters:
“Whenever my squaw wife has a baby, I come out the teepee and the first thing I see I name the baby after.
“When my son was born, I saw a bear running in the woods and named him ‘Running Bear”
“My daughter’s name is ‘Harvest Moon Rising’”
What’s the matter, you no like ‘Dog Pho King’?

>>>I wonder if the Poo Ping Palace is still up and running in Tujunga, CA<<<
Tujunga? I bought my first House in Tujunga.
No Poo Ping Palace there back then though. That is something I would remember.
It’s on the NE corner of LaTuna Canyon and Foothill I believe.
I used to live in No. Hollywood and worked, 1993-1995, at Foothill Yamaha/Kawasaki (long gone now) and rode up LaTuna to work everyday. It was featured on Leno’s Tonite show back in the late 90s or early 00s.

Small world. I bought my Yamaha YZ 250 there back in the 70’s.
Back then they were selling those little Subaru 360’s. I recall they sold BSA’s there as well. God I’m old.
It was in that little shopping center sorta behind the Chase Bank that’s sitting right at the NE corner of Foothill and Tujunga Canyon. Google Earth pics I just saw looks like a Los Burritos is now in its old spot.
Got a Beaver Liquor here in Flagstaff. I can’t remember the play on words a buddy of mine told me about it...
I keep meaning to drive up that way from where I live in Orange County just to see how much things have changed.
I used to eat at “What the Pho” in Bellevue Wa all the time always packed
Pho Keene hilarious!
