Well have two years of gridlock. Nothing will get done.
Im happy with it. It could have been a lot worse.
Obama had to deal the last six years of his presidency with a GOP House.
Now the situation is reversed.

Yup. The problem is, we have a choice between tax-and-spend Democrats or borrow-and-spend Republicans.

I can live with two years of gridlock. Meanwhile, the Senate should still be confirming judges and that may even include a Supreme jurist.

Sure, they can start the process. But the Dems’ majority is small enough that articles of impeachment might not even make it out of the House. And if they do, they still have to get a two-thirds majority in a Republican-controlled Senate for a conviction - which ain’t bloody likely no matter how much the RINOs detest Trump.

Both parties have the same sickness (OPM addiction) and manifest different symptoms. One wants to spend wildly by raising taxes (D), the other wants to spend wildly without raising taxes (R). We are screwed either way.It isn't the parties, it's the people - the parties are just the reflection.

You have a point. I do think we send some good people there, but many of them are (quickly) corrupted by the general swampiness. Has anyone ever tested the water on Capitol Hill?

Has anyone ever tested the water on Capitol Hill?It isn't the DC swamp water, it's the water out here in Heartland Springs, USA.
Politicians who tell the truth about the trade offs between taxes and services don't get (re-)elected.
The public wants to believe that we can have fully funded SS and Medicare, universal healthcare and a super-robust military and the other guy will pay for it.
The best we can hope for is politicians who lie to get elected but figure out how to break their promises gracefully enough to do the right thing yet get re-elected.
There are a few of them around but not many.
