HAPPY NEW YEAR!
FUN WITH CHAMBER MUSIC
DVORAK: QUINTET FOR PIANO & STRINGS IN A, OP. 81
Its time for a little Czech dance, a furiant. Note that the pianist is using an I-Pad, the latest innovation, which requires no page turner. The first violinist is Carmit Zori, who, when she isnt playing concerts, is a Drill Instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces Reserves. I saw her work her fellow musicians over at an open rehearsal in the DI manner. She was rough on them, but it paid off at concert time.

They didn’t feel it, necessarily, but animals sense things much better that we do. A really big quake will send shock waves through the whole planet and it wouldn’t surprise me if they sensed them.

A USGS map showed that the Alaska quake triggered reactions on almost every single fault in North America. The faults in the Appalachians in particular rang like a bell.

The ring of fire is rattling the world, I am sure it has to do with global warming.

Yikes! I asked Kathy, but did they just have another one like the one she posted pictures of? Hope not.

There’s a big sloppy sleet/snow/freezing rain storm that keeps changing from one to the other tonight.
Glad I made it home before it REALLY got going, which it will do in the wee hours.
We’re doing well, and I hope you are too!

No. I’m talking about the big one they had a while back. Not the latest aftershock.

They never do fireworks up here for New Years.
It would have been a big nothing with this weather!
LOL

It sure did. And the fault through the Appalachians twitched and jerked for a couple of weeks afterwards. Seems to have settled down again. I’m used to seeing small shifts on the New Madrid on a regular basis but not in the mountains.
The cats were yelled at a lot during those two weeks. Beyond rambunctious, they were. Now things are down to the normal dull roar. LOL
