When are we going to move our troops from Germany to Poland and Ukraine?

Why do we need troops on rich UK, France so many years after WWII, and the fall of USSR?

There are more American troops in Italy than in Afghanistan.

When it comes to deploying troops on the border, the media is quick to rush out and inform us that it will cost $182 million. But no calculators are in sight when 2,000 troops are deployed in enemy territory thousands of miles away.

I am sure this is what PDJT has in mind.

He could do it cheaper if he called up We the People to do it for him.

I have some old ammo that is needing to be burnt up.

Greenfield is at his best, defending the building/funding of the wall!

“We’re spending $45 billion a year in Afghanistan to help former Taliban fight the current Taliban, who are also fighting ISIS Taliban, with all the groups of warlords, militias, bandits and Koranic meth heads taking the occasional break from fighting each other to take a few shots at us.”

“That $45 billion that we burned through last year in Afghanistan has not saved a single American life. For $45 billion, we could have a border wall that would save thousands of American lives that have been lost at the hands of illegal alien murderers, drug traffickers and drunk drivers.”

“Trump’s Democrat and Republican critics have claimed that building a wall is impractical and won’t work.”

“Walls work really well. They’re solid objects that don’t depend on ideology or theories about human nature. If you’re standing in front of a wall, it doesn’t matter if you’re a socialist, anarchist, libertarian or an illegal alien; it is a reality that you will have to deal with regardless of your politics.”

“In the age of “my truth” and the “I feel” statement, walls don’t care about your truths or your feelings.”

Leave the Arabs alone to kill each other in peace.

Guard our borders.

Sometimes the answers to supposedly complicated problems are very simple, like you posted.

Islam expert, Robert Spencer, believes Pres. Trump made the right move.

IMHO Spencer realizes that without a Caliphate in place and Shia(heretics) strength in that Sunni area there will be tribal and religious unrest and it is no place for a Kafir army to be involved , especially taking sides. - Tom

I was referring only to the paychecks. Plus deployment to some areas may include hazardous duty or combat pay. Bringing them home negates that.

HI tech defense of our borders depends on political will and desire. Politicians will change their minds depending on the whims of big donors. A permanent wall will not be easily compromised.

Get out of Syria and A-Stan. Our forces have performed remarkably considering the conditions and environment, in which they endured for these many years. Enough is enough. They only people making out on our continued involved are Military Industrial Complex people. After reading McCrystals summary of our strategy over there, I was infuriated. Tactical nukes should have been used at the very onset after 9 11. One American life was too great a cost. What has been accomplished? I’m glad Mattis is retiring..Ok rant over, Merry Christmas!

Yeah, but the simple answers can be very, very hard to implement.

“We don't need to export democracy to Syria or Afghanistan; they don't want it and don't know what to do with it when they have it...”

I remember, back in the 70s, an SF series (of stories, SF on TV was still stuck on ST:TOS) about a secret Government agency whose job was to bring down oppressive regimes and encourage their replacement with democratic ones. One of this agency's mottoes was: “Democracy imposed from without is the worst form of tyranny.”

The RAT Game here is simply to do everything in their power to weaken Donald Trump, because they know that so long as his approval numbers stay in the 40%-50% there isn’t a way in the world they can impeach him.

The problem is that it's not the RATs that represent the danger. It's the GOP.

They couldn't have impeached JFK either.

“The problem is that it’s not the RATs that represent the danger. It’s the GOP.”

So True! The open question now is can we convince the voters to replace them? With specific reference to the Senate, in the next two election cycle, we have the opportunity to replace 43 of the 53 RINOs. I mean what do you do when a place like Montana continues to vote in feckless turds like Tester (and yeah I know he’s a RAT), but he had a decent GOP opponent, Trump went there to campaign for him, and he still lost. The problem we face I guess is that the voters are done with all it to such an extent that change is nearly impossible

Get this: Afghanistan has built a WALL.

So have Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

“Map of Uzbekistan with Afghanistan to the south.
The Uzbekistan–Afghanistan barrier is a border barrier, built by Uzbekistan along its 137-kilometres border with Afghanistan along the Amu Darya River.[1] It is among the most heavily guarded borders in the world, second only to the border barrier between North and South Korea.[citation needed] It consists of a barbed wire fence and a second, taller, 380-volt electrified barbed-wire fence, land mines and a patrol of heavily armed Uzbek soldiers.[2][3] It stretches along the entire Uzbek-Afghan frontier from Turkmenistan to Tajikistan.”

Afghanistan.
