I am 100% sure that debt clock does NOT include the estimated $1 trillion in unfunded pension debt.
And when THAT bubble bursts it will be a mess for California since it will be debt that is at the top of the line after paying on debt instruments.

The real test: Does Gov. Moonbeam stay in CA after he retires, or does he bug out? If it’s the latter....

I’m predicting massive in-fighting and they claw and scratch to get their piece of the pie. They will try to “out-virtue-signal” and out-pander each other.
If the Dems were smart, they wouldn’t run anyone for Governor so a Republican was destined to get it. They could blame the Repub for the collapse as they toss aside his vetoes.

In Atlas Shrugged, we get upset at the fools that are making decisions that are stifling creativity, originality, risk taking, all of that. They are mostly fools who are too stupid to see the consequences of their decisions. There's a scene, however, towards the end of the book where the leaders of government, industry, and the head of the unions are all meeting to figure out what to do about the dying economy. They decide more theft of private property, real and intellectual property, is the way to go. The head of the unions (AFL/CIO equivalent) is taken aback. He says they are too stupid to see what that would do but he does. Then he says basically "well, if you're going to destroy everything as long as I get my share of what's left, I'm in."
I found his character to be one of the most despicable. A man with the knowledge that what he's doing is going to destroy lives and the nation, but he does it anyway because it suits his personal needs.
I think many of our politicians delude themselves into thinking their theft and over regulation are drops in the bucket, they satisfy a lobbying base but don't really make that big a difference. That the nation and the states will keep chugging along in spite of all that. But some, like Brown, know the truth. Yet they do it anyway. That's what makes them the worst of the bunch.

Many Californians feel nostalgic about the day when Reagan was president and Moonbeam was governor and there were maybe a mere four million illegal aliens eligible for amnesty. I lived there back then and after four years of Jimbo Carter, there was a definite feeling that things were improving.

Id say were in for contentious times and for too many rules, too many constricting mandates and probably too much spending, Brown told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday.
And...we'll be able to tell the difference from your administration, how?

...he predicts that dominance will make it difficult for his successor to control Democrats hunger for spending and regulations. This is rich coming from Brown.
Here's an idea: save hundreds of billions by cancelling the world's slowest bullet train.

Atlas Shrugged should be required reading in High School, but I fear the majority of students would spend too much time looking for the pictures and wondering why Dagny wasn’t Kim Kardashian.

CA is a socialist country that will soon find out they can’t print their own money. What could go wrong, retired state pension recipients?
