Obamacare wrecked a health care system that worked well for 90% of the population and replaced it with a health care system to cover the 10% who were uninsured or had pre-existing conditions.

In the end it helped neither and ended up making health insurance more expensive for everyone.

Obamacare is gone and no one will miss it.

And somehow the low IQ GOP-E has yet to rip this thing out by the roots and get rid of it.

They also do NOT tell you that every penny of those ‘subsidies’ is ADDED to your income every year with a 1099, so you get taxed on that money.

“Short-term plans can be bought for 12-month terms (renewable up to 36 months) for a fraction of the cost of an Obamacare plan”

And what happens to your short term plan when you come down with a serious illness? Do you get dropped when the term expires, or the premiums go through the roof?

“That means this is the first year since the Affordable Care Act was passed into law that Americans won’t be penalized for choosing not to buy health insurance plans they don’t want and often can’t afford to use.”

Did they also change the law so that emergency rooms are not forced to treat irresponsible people that choose not to get insurance?

Medicaid eligibility expansion has reduced ACA enrollment.

If Obamacare was originally upheld only because of the penalty/tax/compulsive payment, and that aspect of the law is gone, is the rest of it still constitutional?

Congress didn't repeal the individual mandate. They merely reduced the penalty for non-compliance to zero. Any future congress can raise that penalty, which means the tax portion (and thus the constitutionality) of Obamacare remains.

This will be the position of the Supreme Court.

Its unconstitutional minus the penalty.

That's true, except the penalty is still in place. Congress merely reduced the effective rate to zero, which also leaves in place the underlying basis for Obamacare's constitutionality.

Congress knew this when they chose not to eliminate the individual mandate.

“Obama for all of his eight years as POTUS has a “ZERO” accomplishment legacy.”

One can only imagine what Obozo’s Potus record will look like after President Trump second term is over.

Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama are finished...politically. Neither has any coat tails whatsoever and neither can draw more then a handful crowd of limp supporters....(there are very few, at best). Game over...case closed!!!

Don’t ask uncomfortable questions.

It’s cheap.

I’m no attorney either but I think I understand the English language fairly well and my reading of the constitution tells me that powers not granted to the federal government are reserved to the states or to the people. I see nothing anywhere in the constitution which authorizes the federal government to meddle in health care. Of course I don’t expect to ever see my opinion upheld by the court but I doubt that my opinion will change.
