Maybe we need to implement an Immigration Tax, and tax all corporations a ne 90% tax on Gross Income and executive incomes to pay for the foreigners they demand we let in.

“The Koch’s have been controlling the Bush League Republican agenda.”

Our rejection of Jeb has slowed, but not stopped, their train.

The Kocks are not conservatives; they are libertarians which mean they are social liberals that like a lot of money and aren’t too particular about how they get it. In other words, greedy liberals.

It would be a serious mistake to listen to these two anti-Americans.

I hope everyone agrees that no immigrant, not legal, not illegal, not refugee, not H1b, not tourist should get government welfare.

From a pragmatic perspective, to get it passed, is there a compromise?

No welfare for any NEW immigrant.

Maybe taking away some, but not all, welfare for those already here. What would be the criteria?

Whatever it takes to get the required number of votes in Congress. I would love to see the new Republican Controlled Senate pass a tough NO WELFARE FOR IMMIGRANTS bill. Then very publicly negotiate with the Democrat controlled House on what specific welfare to keep in the bill, or take out.

I predict WIC will go one way and EITC another. Medicaid? Food Stamps? Now that Food Stamps are in HHS and not Agriculture, the evil coalition of farm districts and inner city districts is broken.

I am for compromise. We demand BIG and then settle for half. Then we again demand BIG and settle for another half, which puts us 75% toward the goal. Then we demand BIG and settle again until we get what we want.

This nation was built on the backs of welfare recipients.

You need to elaborate, or you are missing a /S.

I cannot figure out which, with the cryptic post.

The Kochs have not changed. The country has changed. The odds are that the pendulum of the country will change again.

It is time to compromise and get the Bills through Congress that win something, rather than accepting nothing but perfection in the Bills and getting nothing.

A series of singles is just as good as a home run.

A field goal is better that a goose egg. You can’t always get a touchdown.

Open borders has always been a standing principle with devout libertarians. Their thought has always been that what can fence folks out can also be used to fence people in. It is inept flawed logic in the least. Under what conditions if ever would this become a possibility? In the mean time...

Something to remember is that libertarians were originally a sect of democrats and still hold on to some of those flawed principles even though they also tout some conservative values. I think they are a bit confused and do not have enough vision past their own current personal interests.

I am not a billionaire, and will acquiesce the Koch brothers probably know a great deal more about business than I do. It seems to me, however, that it would only be the first generation of third world migrants who would work cheap. Their sons and daughters will unionize and demand wages on par with every other American. What do they want after that? Another first generation wave of ignorant migrants?

And their heavy funding in politics sure explains the prevalence of Never Trumpers among traditional GOPe pols and pundits.

The sponsor was responsible for them financially.

Same with my wife who immigrated in 1978 and got her green card in 1985. But at least since LBJ’s war on poverty it has only been enforced when there was some other motivation.

I worked with migrant cherry pickers in Door County WI summers of 61, 62 for a local group led by the Quakers and Assembly of God with the Baptists and Lutherans following the leaders. The local leaders were pro-immigrant, pro-work.

But the national leaders associated with the Nation Council of Churches were even then very much for welfare for immigrants ... and non-immigrants also, of course. They thought it was ‘mean’ that immigrants were forced to work.

You can see that same attitude now towards Muslim “refugees” in Clarkston Georgia a couple miles east of me. The do-gooders think it is “mean” and anti-Muslim to expect the Muslims to work and not give them food, clothing, housing, even entertainment without working.

“It is curious how these white “elites” seem to believe that a “Brown America” would tolerate “white elites”?”

Exactamundo! These “elites” really think the color-fixated will defer to their obvious wisdom and superiority. It will be like the recent white hipster couple who decided to hitchhike across some sh!thole muslim country to prove angry muslims are just misunderstood and were (duh...) raped and murdered. I am sure they were totally shocked as they were being hacked to pieces simply for being white people in a brown world.

“They want the Cheap Labor Express to continue to increase their net worth, and don’t give a rip if they destroy the U.S. in the process. “

When we have Trials and Hangins of the commies and deep statists, let’s make sure to save some room for these traitors.

Heavily tax businesses that employ illegal immigrants. Let the businesses pay if they want the cheap labor.

For them, it comes down to money. If this is their stance it’s because the stance favors their wallet.
