There is definitely a deep cynicism among the ordinary citizens in the country about the fact that “public service“ has resulted in an entitled nobility, replete with fiefdoms, lines of familial succession, special rules etc. typical of the Monarchies & feudal states of old.

Not to mention the fact that they all become multi multi millionaires.

Okay. The Electoral College can be eliminated by amending the Constitution. 2/3rds of House and 2/3rds of Senate propose and 3/4 of the states approve. But the math suggests that 13 states can stop that idea.

Eliminating the Senate requires eliminating the Constitution itself. Article V (the article that covers amendments) says that states cannot be deprived of their equal representation in the Senate without their approval. That means one state can stop this.

I find it amazing that someone who served so long in the House (Dingle) who swore to uphold the Constitution is unaware of this fact.

“We should abolish the Senate and the Electoral College because they’re undemocratic, “despite the constitutional hurdles of doing so.””

The liberals do not have the necessary votes to amend the Constitution and will not have the votes for a long time, if ever.

To overthrow the U.S. Constitution’s electoral college provisions, liberals will have to have a pretext to use the army to attack small and rural states that refuse to vote to amend the constitution.

Don’t laugh. Something similar was done once before.

what is the problem since we are a republic not a democracy. Being accused of non-democratic is a non-starter.

“what is the problem since we are a republic not a democracy.”

There really is not a problem. Other than some bad people want to destroy us.

And they own the public school system lock, stock, and barrel. And they own the fourth estate and the fifth column.

Great proposal. While we’re at it, add in making me king. It would have as much chance of being adopted.

To: Kaslin; All
Repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment and enforce the 12th Amendment to kill unconstitutional state winner-take-all laws for electoral votes.
"Excerpted from the 12th Amendment: "The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice- President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate [emphasis added]; …"

.
Neither the 16th nor the 17th were actually ratified.

Any president can dismiss them by proclamation.

It’s people such as Lord Dingell who have eroded my faith in the government.

"We should abolish the Senate and the Electoral College..."

Senators should be appoint by State Governor....

Electoral college isn't the problem, it's the voting fraud used to undermine it..

If you remove the senate and electoral college, what motivation is there for all the states that are not CA or NY to stay in the Union?

There is deep cynicism among we, the people, WRT politicians and "public service.“ The picture is not pretty:
<><> pols as an entitled nobility,
<><> their own political fiefdoms,
<><> "your-turn" lines of familial succession,
<><> special rules, privileges for pols,
.......typical of the Monarchies & feudal states of old......

IOW, all of the things the founders fled and vigorously fought against in organizing the nascent republic we now call America.
