the panhandle gets snow
Most of the cams that went down seem to always go down this time of year since there isn’t any activity. Others, like DH, apparently had little problems and had to be reset.
Check the owl cam tomorrow because that’s apparently where they sleep.
Peaches went out last night? You got lucky! LOL! But he probably regretted it with it getting so cold.
We won’t get out of the 30s tomorrow and Tues. won’t be a lot better. Come on, Wednesday!
Good evening, radu...hope you are staying warm. Glad you don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow.
Tiny bit more snow, just enough to coat the deck. And our temps have now dropped. It’s 18 right now. Hopefully there have been enough drivers on the plowed roads that it won’t be too bad in the morning. We are supposed to have a whole week below freezing, like winter should be, and maybe some snow.
That was quite a bit of snow! I didn’t think there was that much up there with this storm. Bet they weren’t very happy about it. I guess the good thing is it was snow and not ice.
Hey there, Kathy.
Trying to stay warm. Nasty little north wind makes it harder to keep the house comfy. I have my itty bitty heater by the desk chair to keep the tootsies warm. LOL
BRRRR! Yep, it sounds like normal for up there but that’s too cold for comfort. The good thing is y’all are equipped for slick weather with all the plows and such. Life goes on at a relatively normal pace.
Down here, it comes to a standstill.
Well, I did have a twinge of guilt, but on the other hand, I had no one stepping on me in the middle of a good dream! :)
I hope they aren’t lying about a warm up on Wednesday, because eventually you will have to venture forth for cat food.....and people food. Thank goodness for car heaters!
Got a late start on the bed...many distractions leading to sidetracking, but several little jobs done. And some work on the bed. Most everything is dumped in boxes now, for later sorting. I’m finding lots of broken CD cases...broken plastic, cover in 2 pieces, one side or the other broken pieces, some missing. My closet has accordion doors and are partially open. Can’t open or close for all the things piled up against them. Spent some time working on that. What a mess! But, nothing broken that fell off shelves.
I’m reassessing the need for all the stuff that came off all the shelves. Books are going on lower shelves or to the library.
But, tonight I sleep in my bed. LOL!
I understand completely! LOL! Love our kittehs but they do have a tendency to ruin a good night’s sleep.
I hope they’re right about Wed., too, because that’s the main grocery shopping day. But I won’t be able to wait that long for a run to Wal Mart for the dry food and litter (it’s cheaper there). That will have to be done tomorrow. :-(
I have a recipe I want to share with you, that is a GREAT accompaniment to Indian curries.
Get some flatbread.
Tomato Relish
2 medium tomatoes chopped medium (juice and all)
1 small purple onion chopped medium
1 tablespoon of light brown sugar
2 limes-(cut and squeeze the lime into your ingredients)
Approximately 4 tablespoons of snipped Cilantro
S & P to taste
Combine all in ingredients in a bowl and cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
(That gives it time for the flavors to ‘marry”)
Put some oil in a skillet and lightly brown the flatbread.
Drain on paper towels.
Put your tomato relish on (or in) the flatbread.
This is REALLY good, and I know you will LOVE it.
I know the combination of brown sugar, tomatoes and lime sounds strange, but it works!
The recipe that I learned years ago only called for one lime, but to me, it didn’t have enough “spark.”
I hope you try this, and that you like it, My!
WOOHOO!!!!! I bet you’re looking forward to sleeping in your bed again!! The quake certainly made a huge mess in that room. It stinks that all the CD cases broke but I’m surprised there weren’t more things broken. You were lucky.
Yuk! Sorry you have to venture out tomorrow, but I sure hope the roads aren’t slick at least. If you think of anything else that must be taken care of, might be a good time to get that done, too, since you’ll already be out and about.
I hope I don’t have to go anywhere till it warms up. Well...class on Thursday night, but it’s only about 10 steps from my car to the door to the church building. I think I can handle that. LOL!
*HUG*
Good evening, Ma!
Yes, we got it all done and very much enjoyed the fruit of our labors!
Mr B and I are a pretty good team in the kitchen!
Sounds mighty tasty, actually! I inherited a little "knack" from Mom - - can read a recipe and "taste" the result. This one rates a big YUM!
It really IS wonderful!
Every time I make it, we polish it off!
I DO hope you try it, ‘Du!
I suppose some folks would balk about browning the flatbread, but it just didn’t seem right to me. Felt like something was missing, you know?
It was good, but it needed something, so I did that and it was GREAT!
;o)
The roads will be fine by the afternoon by the time I go out. It’ll just be cold. But that’s what heavy coats are for. :-)
Tues. won’t be so bad after all - mid 40s. I’d glanced quickly at the TV during the weather report earlier in the evening and thought it would be colder.
Thurs. is our warmest day and that’s when the Republican Women’s group is having our Christmas party. Last year, it was so cold I didn’t want to walk out the door to go.
I’ll have to give it a try soon. It does sound awfully good.
Browning the flatbread sounds just fine. Adds a little something extra to the overall flavor.
How great that you can go to the Christmas party without becoming a popcicle! Where do you have it? What goes on at one of those?
Just looked at our week and it will get all the way up to 64 on Wednesday. That’s not awful. I expect the kitties will enjoy not having to huddle all day. No more rain for a while.
Thanks, K...
THAT is how the National Anthem should be honored!!
And WOW! Those Seals are good.
Thanks for the links.
