Your idea that an indictment just "doesn't go anywhere" is odd. What do you mean by that?
If Trump is indicted then, like everyone else ever indicted he will either plead guilty or go to trial.
Whether in D.C. or New York her will face a hostile, Democrat and minority-filled jury. It will be a walk in the park for the prosecutors, as we saw in the Scooter Libby case, in which he got 5 years for lying.
Go tell someone who does not know that the Southern District of New York is a Federal Jurisdiction. Those people have been referring to the Manhattan DA.
The U.S. Attorney’s indictment will not go anywhere, he will be told by the Attorney General and by the Courts that the remedy for Presidential misbehavior is via impeachment
