Journalist Meghan Murphy said in an interview that aired Thursday on "Rising" that Twitter's practice of banning users for remarks it deems offensive is a dangerous precedent after she was banned from the platform last month.
"I don't want to draw a line that ends up silencing people who have political ideas, or who are talking about ideologies, or who are challenging popular discourse that has been deemed offensive," Murphy, founder and editor of the website Feminist Current, told Hill.TV's Krystal Ball on Wednesday.
"Now we're banned, we're silenced, and I actually think it's quite dangerous," she continued.
"This is the new public square, and they know it. They've created this platform that they say is a place for people to share ideas," she said.
Murphy was banned from Twitter after challenging views supporting transgender individuals, and posting tweets saying "men aren't women."
It was revealed last month that the social media platform was officially prohibiting misgendering or "deadnaming" transgender individuals.
"We prohibit targeting individuals with repeated slurs, tropes or other content that intends to dehumanize, degrade or reinforce negative or harmful stereotypes about a protected category," the platform's website reads. "This includes targeted misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals."
News of Murphy's ban comes after conservative commentator Jesse Kelly has returned to Twitter after his account was suspended for unclear reasons. His ban, which lasted less than a week, sparked outrage from a number of conservatives.

It’s always interesting getting a look at the hierarchy of victimhood from the Left.

No doubt due to toxic masculine competitiveness. Thanks to all of the man-shaming of the past few decades, it seems a few men have decided that they can be better women than women can. I say they should have an arm wrestling match to decide.
Everything trumps heterosexual females in the heirarchy of victimhood. Muslims can literally kill them and nobody on the left cares. Trannies can replace them and destroy their achievements and watch them in ladies rooms, again nobody on the left cares. Illegal immigrants can rape them, kill them, steal their jobs, infect their kids with third world diseases and nobody on the left cares.
There is a war on women and it's not coming from the right. Maybe someday they'll catch on.
Transgenderism is like some super over-valued concept stock, which is massively in debt, loses money, yet has a market value worth $50 billion.
For whatever reason, people are taking it seriously now, but it will crash, burn and be forgotten before too long.
Banning and shadow bans from Facebook and twitter I believe had a large effect on the recent midterms and contributed to the loss of the house due to suppression of conservative information and argument.
And I believe that was a conscious goal on their part.
Whatever they think shows them as the most concerned, enlightened, compassionate and caring will be obsessed over in media and academia.
Remember when Fox News first appeared on the scene? The Left was apoplectic. We need to do that to Social Media with our own content. When I see someone on FB talking about killing Trump and nothing is done, I have to conclude that today’s social media platforms are corrupt and committed to the destruction of America, our Constitution and its supporters.
Yeah; this dope thought you could set standards or norms (of her own choosing) and found out the freaks have no boundaries - and God help anyone trying to set any.
If you could send this statement back in time to someone from 10 years ago, what would they think? They'd have to conclude the world went insane. And they'd be correct.
I have been fighting them for my entire adult life; and can verify that only a very, very few of them--even at prestige colleges--can even make a stab at a reasoned argument.

That has been all but proven with leaks from both google and facebook. There’s just no will to break them up.
