California Democrats rewrite the voting rules in their favor
Orange County Register ^ | December 1, 2018 | By SHAWN STEEL

Posted on 12/04/2018 12:50:57 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Election night was painful for California Republicans, but it was nothing compared to the slow torture we’ve endured ever since.

For three agonizing weeks, Republicans have watched registrars update their tallies with late absentee and provisional ballots. From Orange County to the Bay Area, it’s the same story playing out with different candidates: Democrats flipping seats with late ballots.

First, Mimi Walters. Then, Young Kim. Now, David Valadao.

It’s not unusual for late absentee and provisional ballots to break against Republicans. What is unusual is the scale of the carnage. As of this writing, Republicans lost election night leads for five members of Congress, three state Assembly races, two state Senate seats and a Board of Equalization candidate.

Even the Associated Press was caught off-guard by late ballot counting. It has called California’s 21st Congressional District for Republican incumbent David Valadao only to retract its decision three weeks later. If the independent organization “which sets the standard for calling races across the journalism industry” is getting races wrong, something’s changed in California.

Legislative Democrats have rewritten election rules in their favor to expand voter eligibility, automatically register every voter, eliminate voting integrity laws and encourage questionable campaign tactics, such as ballot harvesting.

California has entered an era of near universal suffrage with illegal immigrants, felons, inmates and minors registering to vote. San Francisco now allows “people in the country illegally and other noncitizens the right to vote in a local election,” according to the Associated Press. The city has spent at least $310,000 in tax dollars to register 49 non-citizens to vote.

California is already basically a one-party state. The state government is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat party/leftist media cabal. They do whatever the hell they want within our state and there's no one stopping them. Apparently no opposition at all.

But it's still not enough for them. They're now accelerating their systemic fraud to our elections for federal representatives. For example, we don't even get a Republican choice on the ballot for U.S. Senator anymore. The top two vote getters in the primary get their names on the general election ballot, even if they're both from the same party. So we end up with a 'choice' between two evil democrats in the general. This doesn't seem like the republican form of government guaranteed by the constitution to me.

And now this vote harvesting b/s. This opens the door to rampant fraud. Democrat vote harvesters can now go through rest homes, hospitals, homeless shelters, tent cities, labor camps, prisons, jails, high schools, colleges, etc, signing up people to vote absentee, then get them to sign their ballots whether marked or not. The vote harvester can assist the voter in marking the ballot, hell, they can just do it all and get the signature. Won't take long until California has no Republican reps at all. I think a higher federal court outside of California should review this.

This is beyond “court” solutions. When the Democrats did this in Mississippi, they had to send in the Feds with U.S. Army support. I think the full might of the U.S. should come down on their heads.

That would be the 9th circus? They are blue printing their plans as they infest other parts of the country. Not sure the real solution but I fear the worst.

Yes, there’s no punishment or retribution for their cheating, so they continue breaking the law.

Even so Republicans never seem to make this an issue or demand or expect an investigation.

If they can't do it locally the national Republican party should be screaming bloody murder to call attention to what's going on.

As I have been saying for years our elections are Full of massive democrat vote fraud. I get laughed at. People think that I am a kook. But they have rewritten all the laws in order to perpetrate vote fraud. And they are experts in every form of it. The only way to stop it for Federal election is for the Federal government to force sensible laws across the entire nation. Laws that are specifically designed to prevent vote fraud. Laws that only give you the right to vote when you do it responsibly.

1. Eliminate early voting
2. Absentee voting only for those who can show they can do it no other way.
3. Eliminate all “get out the vote groups”. This comes back to forcing voters to be responsible or else not to vote.
4. Voter ID- Proving citizenship required to obtain ID.
5. Clean up the voter registration lists Force states to supply lists to a federal watchdog. Fine the states for any ineligible people found on there roles.
6. Check for people who voted in multiple states.

And the list goes on.

IIRC, the Congress is not obligated to recognize the electors from a State. Could they not simply declare that it’s impossible to determine whether California’s federal elections represent the will of the federally eligible voters of the state and simply ignore them? Refuse to seat their representatives?

Combine "ballot harvesting" with the National Popular Vote movement, and one can see the danger that the Electoral College protects us from.

Currently, all those "harvested" ballots stay in California. Can you imagine what would happen if they counted nationally for President?

The comments at the end of the article are always good for a laugh. Why do we continue to try to reason with the left? We know who they are. They lie. They demean. All the other are trolls. Don’t feed the trolls!

No doubt that California is violating Federal election laws. The question is how many and how often? The only way to discover the answer is to file suit in federal courts. Even with the crazy 9th Circuit, these lawsuits will establish the facts that crimes are occurring. Then the remedy must be Federal oversight of California elections, as was done in the South during Reconstruction and during the Civil Rights era.

I am of the opinion that there needs to be a greater distinction between federal elections and state elections. Federal elections should follow federal rules, states can do what they want within the confines of the Constitution.

In particular, elections for federal office (President, Senator and Representative) need to have the same rules across the US.

1) Separate voting rolls from State rolls
2) Voting rolls cleared/purged of all registered voters on March 1st following a Presidential inauguration.
3) Individuals must register in person and provide proof of citizenship and residence in order to register
4) Registration closed 30 days prior to an election
5) Mail in ballots only to those that request
6) No registration or voting allowed for those that are wards of the state (prisoners, mental ill, etc).
7) Drivers license change prompts an automatic notification of change of residence to the “losing” state and removal from their voting rolls.
8) No provisional ballots

I know what you intended, but the thing is, there are no "federal" elections; ALL elections are state elections.

Some elections are for federal offices, but the states hold these elections on their own.

Constitutionally, the only federal "office" that had direct elections set up by the Framers were House elections. Elections for Electors to the Electoral College were transitory, as these were not for federal "officers" serving terms. The Senate did not have elections until 1913, but even these were state-by-state elections.
