But, but for years and years the atheists said Pilate did not exist! Nothing is mentioned of him in other histories and if he was mentioned, it was a later interpolation!

Then came a dedication plaque, and now the ring. He lived when the Bible said he did.

If it was pilates ring, as a high official of Imperial Rome, it would have been made of Gold or at least Silver.—Fake to me.

There was an inscription found years ago in Caesarea with Pilate's name, and giving his title as praefectus (showing that Tacitus was in error saying that he was a procurator). Pilate was also known from non-Christian literary sources.
