The outrage, the thought pieces, the horror will be all over the faces o the Left—and maybe that’s exactly what President Trump wanted. The president took to Twitter to take a jab at his favorite punching bag: CNN. He suggested that to counter their trashy coverage of his administration, which isn’t necessarily a lie, the government should create its own news network. President Trump noted how CNN’s ratings aren’t solid in the U.S., though they’re more stable internationally due to a lack of competition. Regardless, I’m sure the MSNBC-CNN left wing cesspool of pundits will once again go on lengthy screeds about how this is the death of the country, the lurch towards authoritarianism, and another blow to our democracy—all of which is straight trash (via The Hill):

Voice of America (VOA) has existed since 1942 and receives funding from Congress. The network's broadcasts are streamed in the U.S. and internationally.
Trump's background in television prior to entering politics led to reports during the 2016 presidential campaign that he would start his own television network if he lost to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Trump denied to The Washington Post in September 2016 that he had discussed launching a media network, calling the speculation a "false rumor."
Let the liberal media have a meltdown over this, the illegal alien horde bum rushing the border crossing, climate change, the border wall; let them froth with insanity over all the things. Keep the fire going, but also a Trump News Network would be pretty cool.

Maybe this is the first step to that. Make them scream that news should be free of government funding.
