"receive(s) regular updates from Mr Huber and at the conclusion of his review will make recommendations, blah blah blah..."

I sure hope you are right. Cases of this type require a capable and determined team of prosecutors and investigators willing to devote long hours and years of effort. The principal defense strategy is delay, obfuscation, and wearing down of the prosecution. It often works.

You have no idea what is going on.
Horowitz job was to investigate. Huber’s job is to do the prosecutorial work. This includes conduction grand juries as well as doing investigations. Horowitz and Huber are in close communication. Huber has a staff of around 500. The OIG has not yet made a report. To get things right, it takes time. Note that there has been no leaks. It is inconceivable that nothing will come from Huber. There are obvious crimes that have occurred and there will be prosecutions.
It is true I was frustrated by DiGenova’s commentary but in thinking further about it, I am frustrated that his wife’s client (Campbell) has not been interviewed by anyone. When Victoria Toensing started talking about her client, there was discussion of concerns about his health. So I think I was unduly influenced by DiGenova. This is coming around the same time that I see Calif house seats being stolen, no contest in the Arizona Senate seat and no complaining by the Rs leaves me frustrated.
I do not believe Sessions is any part of whitewashing anything. It was Sessions who appointed Huber.

Sessions is a high treason co-conspirator. He is/was the insurance policy. He put the mueller coup into play.

Before the ink was dry on the news stories though, he got a call from high up in the Justice Department telling him that he would get a visit from a lawyer with the CIA and to accommodate his request about those cases. And so the cases were gradually and quietly pleaded down or dismissed.
Why the cover up? The Cubans had worked for the CIA agaist Castro and the Sandinistas and throughout Latin America on other projects. They took up drug running to make some extra cash as the secret wars wound down. A deal was worked out to end the drug trade work in return for the charges being dropped and a few early pensions being granted. The CIA angle became known publicly only years later because of some reporters digging into the story. From the outside, in the Bush I era, drug charges being dropped against prominent Cubans had the odor of a political deal to help secure the loyalty of a key Florida voting bloc. Yet the whitewash was based squarely on national security considerations.
