Dershowitz Feuds With Blumenthal Over Whitaker: 'I Was in School of Harvard, Not Schoolhouse Rock'

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) wants the DOJ inspector general to investigate President Trump's relationship and correspondence with Matthew Whitaker in the wake of his appointment to acting attorney general. Trump gave Whitaker the role after ousting former AG Jeff Sessions. Democrats are outraged for at least two reasons. One, that Whitaker has publicly criticized Robert Mueller's Russia probe and two, that Whitaker did not get Senate approval for the new position. They argue that under the succession statute, the role of acting AG rightfully belongs to Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein. Schumer adds that if Whitaker remains in the role, he should at least recuse himself from the Russia investigation.

"I am particularly concerned about whether Mr. Whitaker may have shared with the White House, or could share in his new role, confidential grand jury or investigative information from the Special Counsel investigation or any criminal investigation,” Schumer wrote to IG Michael Horowitz.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) is one of the Democratic senators to sue the White House for "unconstitutionally" promoting Whitaker.

"Installing Matthew Whitaker so flagrantly defies constitutional law that any viewer of School House Rock would recognize it," the senator charged. "Americans prize a system of checks and balances, which President Trump’s dictatorial appointment betrays.”

"Well I was in the school of Harvard, not the Schoolhouse Rock," lawyer Alan Dershowitz replied on Fox News Tuesday.

Dershowitz added why Trump deserves some discretion here.

"You have to give the president some discretion to fill vacancies," Dershowitz reasoned, adding that the Democrats’ lawsuit is “too broad” in its scope.

Last week the DOJ released a memo justifying Whitaker's appointment.

I read that weasel Rosenstein has said he is going to resign because he thinks if he doesn’t Trump will fire him

Probably another lie.

Thanks for filling me in with that info

I see there are some conflicting opinions down thread

Be that as it may, it appears the Dirtz may indeed be a pedophile.

Dersh may not be a pedophile but he forgot all his acquaintance with either the law or what is good and decent when he was “made” to watch his client getting serviced by his underaged sex slave in the office. (Dersh could have walked out; could have quit; could have gone to the police. Instead, he let it be known he wanted her too, and Epstein was only too happy to keep one more powerful man on a blackmail string.)

Unless he was tied up with his eyelids propped open he was in the position of a voyeur

Watching sex by an older man and an underage girl.

(If peer pressure “made” him watch that’s quite a moral weakness.)

Therefore in my opinion a pedophile.

Quite a few powerful people indicted in that link. Unfortunately, they are all still at large. Dershowitz has always been a dirtbag, but you are absolutely correct; he is a criminal as well. The man should be in prison along with the rest of the traffickers.

It’s almost impossible for most people to imagine the depths of evil. Unless you’ve experienced it or seen it firsthand, the normal response is disbelief. These people use that impulse to attack those who try to expose them and they are successful in the majority of instances.

People ask how a loving God could condemn someone to Hell? It’s what these people deserve...

“People ask how a loving God could condemn someone to Hell? It’s what these people deserve...”

Just another viewpoint

I think it is actually the individual that condemns themselves to hell by not taking the gospel message to heart and become Christians.

But yes God makes it clear that the condemnation will kick in for those that decide to stay reprobates.

(I pinged Yaelle to this reply but not sure if her name will show up)

Doctrinally, it’s true of all men. Hell is what we deserve, or Christ’s sacrifice was for nought.

From a human perspective, some deserve it more than others. Adults who abuse children top my list. There is too much apocryphal and historical evidence that many of these abusers are in powerful positions. It’s

Yep that’s the way it works.

And true if we knew all details of what perversions all powerful people have engaged in it would be immoral overload for our brains and souls.

Hopefully many of these people will be stopped and punished here on earth.

One would think with R Blumenthals track record the last thing he would do would be to question the ‘ETHICS’ of anyone.

Kind of like the end of ‘Caine Mutiny’ when Van Johnson’s character said to Fred MacMurray:
“I didn’t think you had the guts to come around”
and MacMurray replied:
“I didn’t have the guts NOT to”

Amen, and what galls me more is how the MSM never brings it up when he does.

Yes, the demoncrapit party is a war plan and its followers have a cult-like devotion to it.

The GOPe still thinks it's a country club for members only. And President Trump, and you, and I are like blacks suddenly showing up at the clubhouse uninvited. You don't think karl rove's fat face is pinched in disgust every time the beautiful Candice Owens gets interviewed on FOX instead of him?
