The sound guy can always cut the mike. Get two.
This is above my pay grade, but I really hate that the WH by acceding to the Judge, has ratified the concept that a Judge can determine how a WH press conference can be conducted. This will lead to further litigation and the intrusion of the judiciary into what should have been the sole discretion of the President.
Thanks for posting that. It made me smile.
Violation should also lead to disorderly conduct charges.
I don’t want an intern handling the mike. I think we need an actual LEO that could make an arrest if needed, and it should be a big guy, 6’5” and at least 250.
What new rules?
Just ignore Acosta completely.
Press conferences are 18th century relics of antiquity covered by an archaic profession of gossipers, politicians under the veneer of free press, and yellow journolistas.
ONE question is enough, the follow-ups are ridiculous.
It’s wise to pick your battles. Going one on one with Acosta/CNN is a no-win situation because they will spin and lie and make it something different than what it is. Instead Trump is playing the game - you want rules, now we have rules. If Acosta tries to break them he will find out Trump is not on solid legal ground and violations will be clear for anyone to see. Trump has now created a game he can unquestionably win.
What this sets up is the WH can decide to issue press passes, but cannot revoke them.
Insane.
Its why the press conferences need to be done away with. If the WH cannot stop doing something what power do they have?
No drinking before Press Conferences ?
Him refusing to give up the mic, and pushing away the intern asked to take it from him?
What court of law would support the Reporter in that.
This judge just made a fool of himself.
A follow up question should have been defined as a question that pertains to the question just asked and answered, no each journalist gets 2 questions
I would add one more rule: Microphones will remain in the interns hands at all times. The intern will position the microphone in front of the journalist so the journalist may pose his or her question. At no time whatsoever shall a reporter make contact with the microphone. Failure to comply with this directive will result in that journalist losing his or her hard pass for a period not to exceed 10 days.
You cant hit the girl and keep the mike? Damn.
>>Just ignore Acosta completely.<<
Yep.
I just wonder if President Trump will be able to pass up opportunities to gig acosta. The President might do both like he did before by saying “no, I won’t take questions from you — you are fake news.”
Also put CNN in the back of the room (unless they do as the pic I uploaded upthread).
Why is the President of the United States allowing himself to be ordered around by a mere Federal judge?
Can the Assistant Under-Secretary of Waste Removal issue orders to the US Supreme Court?
Need an inter that looks like our new temp AG, Whitaker.
If you and I wanted an emergency hearing on any issue critical or otherwise we would be told to take a number and go pound sand.
Broadcasters and other lefty groups seem to be able to get heard by a judge regardless of the day of the week or the lateness of the hour.
