Because the hand recount only involves questionable ballots. Not the 8 million cast. Ones who voted for everything but Senator or voted for both Senators. Ones whose signature on a mail in ballot doesnt match the registration, and absentee ballots which were postmarked on time. Now they have to determine voter intent on the over and under votes and add them to one pile or the other.
I don’t know how big the pile of questionable votes is, but if it is bigger than 12000 we still have to worry.
Nothing that happens under Brenda Snipes’ management is accidental.
If the new vote had been advantageous to the democrats it would have been submitted with time to spare.
To add to my reply we don’t know how many outstanding votes are out there but I just read that it is anywhere between 35-118 thousand

Lay out the pieces. Once you foul up three or four states, the judges will hinder the Electoral College deadline, and 270-plus votes for Trump won’t exist (note Georgia and Florida were Trump states in 2016).
So we move to the alternate method...going into Jan 2021 to the House and Senate. Senate will pick the VP. And the House will go....state-by-state and cast the votes. Right now, I think the GOP has a edge with 26 votes....which is enough. But if you find one or two more states to foul up and have a non-GOP advantage, then you end up with either the House Speaker as President or the Democratic candidate.
It’s all prep-work.
