A very painful injury, I have been there as the result of a car accident.
She must have taken quite a fall to break ribs.
The only treatment is bed rest, moving the wrong way while asleep will result in being wide wake in the blink of an eye.
I just blew that theory.

On the fall- I just finished a book (Being Mortal by Atul Gawande) that I highly recommend. It's about aging and the different ways we and other countries deal with it. He talks about falling in the older generation as a harbinger of decline.
I don't wish RBG ill health but she may need to retire.
At eighty-five this is a serious injury. I hope she recovers .... so she can retire.
Bless her heart. I hope she heals very soon, although at her age, bones don’t heal very well.
