FULL TITLE: Planned Parenthood Arch-Enemy Marsha Blackburn Wins Tennessee Senate Race Over Pro-Abortion Candidate

Some of the abortion industry’s worst enemies are the women leaders who fight so strongly for the rights of unborn babies. U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee is one of them.

And the pro-life Republican leader won her Senate race against pro-abortion Phil Bredesen. U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, who currently holds the seat, is retiring.

“I know the left calls me a wing-nut or a knuckle-dragging conservative,” Blackburn said in her announcement video, CNN reports. “And you know what? I say, that’s all right, bring it on. I’m 100-percent pro-life. I fought Planned Parenthood and we stopped the sale of baby body parts, thank God.”

The pro-abortion blog Rewire blasted Blackburn as a “Planned Parenthood antagonist” and “firebrand.”

“A Blackburn victory would elevate one of the GOP’s most proactive abortion rights opponents from the tempestuous U.S. House of Representatives to the traditionally more even-keeled Senate,” pro-abortion writer Christine Grimaldi worried.

The Tennessee Republican has established herself as a champion for the rights of unborn babies in Washington, D.C. The eight-term congresswoman has a 100-percent pro-life voting record, and she has spoken out strongly for the rights of unborn babies on the U.S. House floor numerous times.

Most recently, she chaired the U.S. House Select Panel on Infant Lives, which investigated Planned Parenthood’s sales of aborted baby body parts.

In January, the committee sent numerous criminal and regulatory referrals to federal and state officials regarding Planned Parenthood and other groups involved in the baby body parts trade.

Under Blackburn’s leadership, the panel found evidence that several tissue procurement companies and abortion clinics may have violated federal laws prohibiting the sale of human fetal tissue. The panel recommended that 15 entities be potentially criminally prosecuted for their actions.

“It is my hope that our recommendations will result in some necessary changes within both the abortion and fetal tissue procurement industries. Our hope is that these changes will both protect women and their unborn children, as well as the integrity of scientific research,” Blackburn said in January.

She also has sponsored and co-sponsored a number of pro-life bills. Back in 2013, she sponsored the first pro-life bill of the 113th Congress, which would have defunded Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses of taxpayer dollars. The move came after a Planned Parenthood lobbyist publicly endorsed post-birth abortions, or infanticide. She also co-sponsored a bill to provide more support for pregnant and parenting moms who choose life for their unborn babies.

In addition, Blackburn served on a Pro-Life Coalition that Donald Trump established while still a candidate. The coalition provided Trump with guidance on pro-life issues, including bans on taxpayer funding for abortion and late-term abortion.

Abortion activists fear strong, female leaders like Blackburn because they demonstrate that women are strong, capable leaders who do not need Planned Parenthood or the ability to abort their unborn babies to succeed.

National Right to Life had endorsed pro-life Rep. Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee’s U.S. Senate election.

“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Marsha Blackburn, whose position on life reflects the true values of Tennessee’s voters,” said Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president. “There is a stark contrast between Marsha Blackburn, who supports legal protection for unborn children, and Phil Bredesen, who supports a policy of abortion on demand. As governor, Bredesen wouldn’t even sign a pro-life license plate law to raise funds for pregnancy resource centers.”

Rep. Marsha Blackburn is the lead sponsor of H.R. 4712, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which, if enacted, would require that a baby born alive during an abortion must be afforded “the same degree” of care that would apply “to any other child at the same gestational age.”

Marsha Blackburn co-sponsored and voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act – legislation to protect unborn children by prohibiting abortion at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn has a 100 percent pro-life voting record throughout her years of service in Congress. Blackburn opposes abortion on demand, and she opposes using tax dollars to pay for abortion.

She also stopped a middle of the night attempt on the last dat of session from voting in a state income tax in the 1990’s. She’ll be a very good senator
