Don’t be fooled! Impeachment ‘will happen’ if Dems take control of the House in November

In a creative way to focus on the potential impeachment of President Donald Trump — the lack of high crimes and misdemeanors notwithstanding — NBC anchor Chuck Todd played a clip of the president talking about what he believes will then happen.

To that possibility, Michael Steel, a former aide to then-Speaker John Boehner, stated the obvious in saying if Democrats take control of the House in the midterm elections, impeachment “will happen.”

“So here’s President Trump. He loves talking about impeachment,” a smarmy Todd said before playing the video clip Sunday on “Meet the Press.”

He then asked Steel if impeachment is “a great tool for the Trump base?” Report Advertisement

“Impeachment is what will happen if House Democrats win the majority in 2018,” the panelist replied.

NBC Capital Hill reporter Leigh Ann Caldwell chimed in to say that “impeachment will be a hard barrier to come across.”

“We’re talking about impeachment, not conviction,” Steel countered.

Todd jumped in to make a comparison to President Bill Clinton being impeached by the GOP-controlled House in 1998 after being charged with lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice during the Monica Lewinsky sexual affair scandal. Learn more about RevenueStripe...

“You believe it’s going to be the way the House Republicans acted in the 90s?” Todd asked. “They’re (Democrats) going to do it, no matter what.”

“Absolutely,” Steele answered.

Fellow panelist Cornell Belcher weighed in to agree, saying Democratic Party leaders are “lying” about impeachment not being a policy issue.

“What the leadership is saying right now, they’re just flat-out lying, they’re going impeach,” the Democrat pollster said.

All of which places one helluva significance on the elections results in November.

they need only 218 votes to impeach. Clinton survived it.

How will we the majority of Trump supporters handle this?

Keep these words in mind from now on. We are the Deep State’s biggest obstacle to complete control of this country.

The left wants the power to control every aspect of everyone’s life. They are furious because Trump is unwinding everything 0bama did and now he is in the way.

What they do not see is that Free Lives Matter. And they are the opposition to that.

“We’re talking about impeachment, not conviction,” Steel countered.

That's a point missed by most people, especially in the Libtard Media. Impeachment is easy, but conviction is extremely difficult. There's no way two-thirds of the Senate would vote to remove President Trump from office.

Impeachment is not on the agenda, beyond talk to raise to raise funds. The Dems will not have the 2/3 vote to accomplish this.

What will be on the agenda is creating a Gordian knot that makes it impossible for Trump to move his agenda forward.

Which is why you need to get out there to vote.

They’ll posture like peacocks and have hearings, issue subpoenas, but even a narrow Dem House would not have the votes to bring it to the floor.

Much less pass it.

Especially knowing 55+ Republican Senators await the indictment in the upper chamber.

They saw what happened with the Clinton impeachment and will not make that mistake.

Impeachment is a red herring.

I’m starting to sense the usual gloom and doom talk from some Freepers as we approach the final weekend before the election. We’re just a tiny echo chamber in a country of three hundred million plus people. There are tens of millions of our fellow Americans who are not and will never be part of FR, but they agree with us! Maybe I’m too hopeful, but I really do believe that most of the people in the country can’t stomach the excrement coming from the RATs, and they will not reward them with majority in either chamber of Congress.

I’m not doom and gloom. I think this election will go comparatively well.

However, I’m also very aware that any failure of us to go and vote may favour the Democrats in some areas. We can’t afford to lose any seats and we want to punish them for what they have been doing.

Again, as always, it has to be asked.

Impeachment for WHAT, exactly?

Trump hasn’t violated EXISTING laws, he has ENFORCED them.

Impeachment is a political process. You don't need a criminal charge at all. It may be tough to make a case against the president just because you hate him, but they only need 218 votes.

But if the Dems gain control of the House and impeach Trump it is highly doubtful that the 2/3 vote in the Senate would be there. The impeachment would prove a spectacular failure and the Dems would end up with egg on their faces. They need not fear defections of moderates from the party because there are no more moderate Democrats. But the 2020 election cycle is coming right up.

As we saw with Slick Willie, what good does it do to impeach somebody if they aren’t removed by the Senate.

Waste of time and money...but I guess that’s what Congress does.

And? Clinton was impeached by the House, the Senate refused Removal, and he served out the rest of his term. The Dems will need ~40% of GOP Senators to vote to remove Trump from office.

Okay. So we Americans will have to “resist” by exercising our Second Amendment rights on the Nazi and commie far left knuckledraggers. America will be a better place with fewer of them sleazing their way around our country.

It doesn’t have to be “criminal,” but there has to be SOMETHING to base your impeachment effort on. The Dems squawk about immigration, but all Trump has done is enforce laws already on the books for years.

Just because Obama chose to be “lawless” and not enforce existing law is no reason to impeach Trump for enforcing it.

Impeachment talk on that basis is beyond ludicrous.
