Judge Andrew Napolitano Officially Endorses Convention of States.
Convention of States ^ | October 23rd 2018 | Garrett Humbertson

Full Title: Judge Andrew Napolitano Officially Endorses Convention of States to Chain Down the Federal Government.

The Convention of States Project announces an endorsement from Judge Andrew Napolitano, Senior Judicial Analyst, Fox News Channel and author of nine books on the U.S. Constitution.

Judge Andrew Napolitano says, “For generations, long before the Convention of States Project, I have joined many of my ideological and political friends in recognizing the need to call an Article V Convention. American history and human nature teach that Washington, D.C., will never actually restrain itself and restore the foundations of personal liberty that the Constitution purports to guarantee. Yet, to build out the infrastructure, the organization, and the grassroots army to get it done is a huge undertaking. Today, the Convention of States Project is doing just that, and I’m proud to join with my friends Sen. Tom Coburn and Mark Meckler by endorsing what they are doing. When the actual Convention is called to order -- and it will be -- I’d consider it an honor and privilege to perform some of the heavy lifting; which is to draft and disseminate proposed constitutional amendments to the states that, in Jefferson's words, will chain down the federal government to the confines of the Constitution.”

“For two decades, Judge Napolitano has been a public champion for the Constitution and the principles of American jurisprudence through television, radio and his books.” says Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action.

For a Convention of the States dedicated to Georgia’s application language, which would re-balance citizens’ rights versus federal power and state power, the count is 12 down, 22 to go.

For a Convention of the States dedicated to a balanced budget amendment only, the count is 30 down, 4 to go.

Is that what’s on his mind, less than two weeks before Midterms?

Our federal government is dysfunctional, divorced from the Constitution, and cannot reform itself. Either the State legislatures stand up and be heard, our Republic is doomed.

Hopefully my grandkids will one day be saying thank God for Article V.

Idea still scares the heck out of me, due to the very poor knowledge of the Constitution possessed by so many Americans in 2018.

Pop the cork on this puppy and we could wind up with constitutional “rights” to health care, a house and free college.

I guess we’re running out of options that don’t involve lead flying though.

Some people look beyond the midterms to our nation’s long term survival. Venezuela has elections too.

When a Concon is called they should address one amendment at a time, send it on to the sates for ratification, stay in session, address another amendment, send it to the states, stay in session and continue until all needed amendments are addressed.

Here is the usual boilerplate I attach to these threads to explain the process.

***

The amendatory process under Article V consists of three steps: Proposal, Disposal, and Ratification.

Proposal:

There are two ways to propose an amendment to the Constitution.

Article V gives Congress and an Amendments Convention exactly the same power to propose amendments, no more and no less.

Disposal:

Once Congress, or an Amendments Convention, proposes amendments, Congress must decide whether the states will ratify by the:

The State Ratifying Convention Method has only been used twice: once to ratify the Constitution, and once to ratify the 21st Amendment repealing Prohibition.

Ratification:

Depending upon which ratification method is chosen by Congress, either the state legislatures vote up-or-down on the proposed amendment, or the voters elect a state ratifying convention to vote up-or-down. If three fourths of the states vote to ratify, the amendment becomes part of the Constitution.

Forbidden Subjects:

Article V contains two explicitly forbidden subjects and one implicitly forbidden subject.

Explicitly forbidden:

Implicitly forbidden:

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR !!!!

A majority of our current elected and appointed government representatives - by and large ignore the current Constitution or bend it to achieve their goals. Why should anyone believe that a Convention of the States will make the people in power behave any differently? Our current batch of representatives and government leaders will treat any revision (or re-write) of our premier governing document as they do the current one.

We will either elect a majority of representatives who will impeach and remove those who do not uphold the Constitution and who will jail traitors and the seditious - or we will continue pretending that the Constitution is law of the land and see our republic evolve into a socialist state or worst.

Related: If our government fails to stop the invasion of illegals from the south, we can look forward to Soro's vision for America coming to pass. Our republic as envisioned by the founders will be over.

At the close of the constitutional convention of 1787, we have this exchange between Benjamin Franklin and a convention attendee: “Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”

Franklin's reply: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Thanks for the ping.
To those who say we should just follow the Constitution,
and we don't need a Convention of States...
Well, Article V is a part of the Constitution, is it not?
So, having a Convention of States is following the Constitution.

Con con will work, IF AND ONLY IF THERE ARE NO LIEBERALS IN ATTENDANCE!

If Con con is organized and run by Constitutional Conservatives, there might be a chance for some good things to happen.

If LIEberals are allowed to participate, they will screw it up, fer shure, fer shure!

How do Constitutional Conservatives control the delegates?

What are the limitations?

Much mischief can be done if the wrong people - LIEberals - are allowed to participate.

Until the makeup and rules for the Con con are agreed upon, I’m against convening it!

I won’t bore you “comment on the titles” crowd too much with the idiocy of relying on elections alone to save our republic.

But to illustrate, and I trust without straining your intellect, recall that the accomplishments of Ronald Magnus are so much dust, overwhelmed by a self-serving Washington DC led by the Bushies, BJ Clinton, and The Magic Negro.

Now, to affect long lasting change it follows that our ruling institutions, which used to serve their constitutional purposes, must be restored. I ain’t gonna happen through an election process that very nearly gave us The Beast.

Like President Reagan, PDJT’s accomplishments will eventually dissolve unless he realizes that he can lead his loyal and patriotic base to REAL and LONGLASTING reform and restoration of the American Republic.

That means the Framers’ gift of the Article V state amendments process.
