Liberals Need to Stop Calling for War

New York Times columnist Charles Blow delivers a genuine polemic, a "warlike speech," in reaction to the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh. Apart from the declaration of hostilities in the title of the piece, it concludes with this admonition to liberal foot soldiers: "Stop thinking you're in a skirmish, when you're at war."

In elucidating the "war" to which he refers, Blow explains that "Kavanagh is just one part of a much larger plan by conservatives to fundamentally change the American political structure so that it enshrines and protects white male power even after America's changing demographics and mores move away from that power." And for these conservatives, "Trump is just a useful idiot, a temporary anomaly."

Blow's reference to conservatives trying to change fundamentally the "American political structure" is perhaps a little disingenuous. Who is trying to effect a "fundamental transformation" of the nation, in the words of a former president, and who is trying to preserve its venerable traditions and foundations?

The present reality that Blow would hold inviolate he calls "America's changing demographics" and later the "statistical eventuality" of an altered racial majority. This ongoing change is in Blow's mind somehow the status quo ante, and anything that obstructs it seems to him radical and pernicious.

A full response to Charles Blow's black supremacist editorial in the New York Times of a couple weeks ago.

The key rebuttal point is summarized as:

Blow's position, stripped of euphemism, is that a white majority in this country is immoral. It is no longer a question of minority rights. Being in the minority is oppression, and it is time at last for the oppressor and the oppressed to change places. And if, after the population becomes majority non-white, the government does not follow, well, we all know what that is called: apartheid. Would some further adjustment on the South African model not be required?

Whites in America, especially 'color blind' and 'content of your character' supporters, both liberal and conservative, need to re-examine their assumptions.

Black power advocates like Blow are extremely mainstream now, this editorial after all was published in the New York Times. Blacks and their allies are no longer pushing for equality or color-blind policies, but for a Black majority, to address the historical wrongs perpetrated by the White majority.

Anyone who doesn't understand what that will look like should pay more attention to South Africa. Whites were promised a "rainbow nation" based on equality.

Today they live a nightmare Black Power State that oppresses them at every turn. Legally barred from many professions and educational paths (you don't think Affirmative Action is going to end just because whites are a minority now, do you?) to endless racially motivated crime, now to the seizure without compensation of White land.

The question for any person who doesn't want this visited on their grandchildren is "why won't it happen here?"

The term "magic dirt" is sometimes used to cast derision on the idea that America is somehow magically endowed with a force that will somehow make a black or Muslim or Mexican majority America different from the donor nations of Africa, the Middle East or Mexico.

Politics is downstream of culture, and culture is downstream of race.

As long as this sort of hysteric infantile behavior is not called to account, it will continue.

Best way for people sick of this behavior is to show up on Nov 6th and fire every Democrat candidate at every poltical level. Send a message to the Democrat party leadership there are political lines that will not be crossed in this country.

This war approach and its use to sway the public has been around for decades. Conservatives have opponents, liberals have enemies. Conservatives make the mistake of playing that game. They are constantly trying to fight back rather than displaying the issue in its simple form.

The conservatives are spending so much time trying to explain what things are about themselves after they are lied about by liberals, they don’t show the topic. Then the liberals can lie about anything they want and the population never sees the true issues. And the media is hip deep in it.

She is saying that there exists a white majority in this country that is immoral. She can’t say that. She has no facts to do so. So all she is doing is using the same old race card trick. It must be election time. It’s time to abandon the truth in its simplest form.

Prior to the 2016 election I explained (After The Republic, Sept 2016) how America had already “stepped over the threshold of a revolution,” that it was “difficult to imagine how we might step back, and futile to speculate how it might end.” Regardless of who won the election, its sentiments’ growing “volume and intensity” would empower politicians on all sides sure to make us nostalgic for Donald Trump’s and Hilary Clinton’s moderation. Having begun, this revolution would follow its own logic.

What follows dissects that logic. It has unfolded faster than foreseen. Its sentiments’ spiraling volume and intensity have eliminated any possibility of “stepping back.”

The Democratic Party and the millions it represents having refused to accept 2016’s results; having used their positions of power in government and society to prevent the winners from exercising the powers earned by election; declaring in vehement words and violent deeds the illegitimacy, morbidity, even criminality, of persons and ideas contrary to themselves; bet that this “resistance” would so energize their constituencies, so depress their opponents,’ that subsequent elections would prove 2016 to have been an anomaly and further confirm their primacy in America. The 2018 Congressional elections are that strategy’s first major test.

Regardless of these elections’ outcome, however, this “resistance” has strengthened and accelerated the existing revolutionary spiral. We begin with a primer on such spirals, on the logic of mutual hate that drives them, and on their consequences; move to a general description of our evolution’s driving logic, describe the 2016 elections as the revolutionary spiral’s first turn and the “resistance” thereto as the second. Then we examine how the “resistance” affects the other side, and how this logic might drive our revolution’s subsequent turns.
