>If Mexico pays for our wall, all of this could be avoided.

Actually, if OUR govt had been following the Constitution, all of this WOULD be avoided.

ZERO welfare to draw ‘em in
ZERO “anchor babies” via FULL/true reading of 14th

And, were we actually going after the ROOT violators, we’d be arresting/prosecuting any/all govt employees aiding/abetting/harboring/colluding/obstructing/etc.

Instead, govt goes after the ‘minnows’ (the employer). A handful of illegals here, another there and they call it “winning”. And *IF* they used the ‘small fish’ (SOMEHOW) to GET to the ‘big fish’, one would have a counter-point...but it hasn’t happened (as far as I can remember == not often *enough*).

That sounds too much like Bakersfield. I get mad when I think that remove 2300 miles and gave up good jobs to come here and here Spanish program. Of course, I only hear it maybe once a month when I go to Johnson City. I don’t really hear it in our little town. It’ll probably take 15 years at the rate of growth here to get as bad as it was in Bakersfield, so I think I can still die thinking that I’m in US.

But the big cities are certainly worse and Charlotte is a big one! They don’t seem to have invaded this area as much so if you ever feel like moving pop on over the border. The difference is we have very low economic growth here. We could figure that would keep out the illegals and the liberals. So imagine my surprise to find one noisy family about every time I go shopping at Aldie’s. I wonder why they’re here actually. But at least it’s one family and you can imagine the looks they get :-) dirty looks from all the white people that are disgusted that they can’t bother to speak English, talk at the loudest level they can, and let the kids run around dumping things off of the shelves. Absolutely no difference from when they were in California. These people don’t The difference is we have very low economic growth here. Will continue to hope for you, and for the rest of the country, and me that they get deported ASAP! Trump did talk about the wall with the big door and that they all had to leave and come back using legal means.

I live in Maine which is 96% white. New Hampshire and Vermont are about the same.

Yet, even here in Maine I sometimes hear a group of people speaking Spanish. I don’t know if they are seasonal help in tourism or agriculture but I do notice (and hear) it.

Those are beautiful areas, we were pretty sure we couldn’t handle the cold though. Or the liberalism. How are your taxes? We were escaping California and all the bad things that liberals bring in. So we’re looking for a reliably conservative area.

But there are lots of beautiful places in the US. And a lot of good people everywhere, even in California. The central valley was pretty conservative but was out voted by the coast.

This summer here in Maine was hot and humid. Now, it’s rather chilly. Oh well.

Regarding taxes, of the six New England states New Hampshire wins....no state income tax and no sales tax.

Maine’s income tax is rather high; it went as high as 8.5% for top earners, then got whittled down by the current conservative governor, Paul LePage, who unfortunately is not running this year because of term limits.

A ballot initiative passed in recent years increasing the income tax further in order to raise the pay of teachers.
The governor and the Maine House and Maine Senate effectively neutered the tax increase passed by the misguided voters.

Now, there’s a new ballot measure this Fall that would raise income taxes to fund in-home nursing care. Both Republicans and Democrats running for office are opposed to this ballot measure, that would raise state income taxes in Maine to 11% for the highest earners....more than double the rate in Massachusetts! Fortunately, there are far more ads on TV opposed to this measure than are for it, including ads by nurses and some well-known former democrat office holders who are urging a “no” vote.

I live in Maine’s Second Congressional district. It covers 27,000 square miles, or 80% of the state. In area, it’s the largest district east of the Mississippi.

Donald Trump carried this district by 10 points, receiving one electoral vote. Madame Hillary carried the more liberal, and more populated, First Congressional district, which includes the Portland area. She won the state vote by 2.9%. If candidate Trump had run more ads, I think he could have carried the entire state.

The Second District is more conservative and has been trending red in recent years. Maine has both concealed carry and Constitutional carry. Constitutional carry went into effect three years ago....no permit necessary to carry a firearm on your person or in your vehicle. This same law also made switchblades legal in Maine.

I lived in California for about 17 years....mostly in Santa Barbara and for about a year in the Santa Ynez Valley. That state used to be quite conservative; you sure can’t beat the climate!

Wow, your district is yuge. I gather that’s why it is conservative, most of the rural areas seem to be. Unfortunately, like in California, the population centers are liberal and control our taxes.
New line
Your state sounds beautiful and I hope to visit it one day. We moved over here to East Tennessee, and hope the one day travel to all the Revolutionary and Civil War sites, and then eventually make it up to New England and see the leaves change. There’s a lot to do out here. A lot of history and a lot of beauty.

Oh I bet it will. Most Mexicans are so poor and so beaten down by decades of oligarchy the idea of "their land" is a distant concept. For the vast majority of Mexicans, the "caravan" is a non-event, something beyond them which will pass by and they will only be hoping that the flood doesn't stop and nobody gets killed in their little town.

We have high tech crowd control weapons that can be deployed. Microwaves that make you feel like your skin is on fire. Ultrasound that sends you to your knees clutching your head and puking.

Yeah, that'll be a great look on the evening news a few days before the election, with democrats in full hue and cry wailing about the poor desperate mothers and children.

The Latin Invading Expeditionary Force has now reached the size of a military DIVISION. The Mexicans are apparently giving them maps of Texas. It is said that enough Mexicans are joining them as they march north that they will number FIVE MILITARY DIVISIONS by the time they reach America! Can they be stopped??
