Budget reconciliation is the key to building the border wall
The Hill ^ | 10/17/18 | BY REP. BRADLEY BYRNE (R-ALA.)

Over the last 20 years, budget reconciliation has been used as a powerful tool to bypass filibusters and accomplish priority issues for the majority party with only 50 votes in the Senate. ...That is why I (Rep. Bradley Byrne) am introducing a bill, the Fifty Votes for the Wall Act, that I am confident could meet the requirements of budget reconciliation and survive the Byrd Rule’s tests. The bill creates a new mandatory spending program, providing up to $25 billion, to fully fund President Trump’s border wall.

Sounds like a great idea:

"Not only would my bill fully fund the wall, but it would take the wall building program out of the appropriations process and prevent Democrats from bottling up funding in future years."

All it takes is political will. I bet he can’t get 50 votes.

Yes, all it takes is political will.

All these crowdfunding ideas for building the wall are just a way to separate ignorant people from their money

Sure, take the money from Planned Parenthood, PBS, and more. Easy to shift to the wall. Maybe take away Spanish language services and printing to pay for the wall as well. AND WHAT ABOUT EVERIFY? ADD IT TOO!!!

The only problem is the Bush League Republicans in the Senate.

If we had more than 4 or 5 Senators on the side of the citizens and the rule of law it would help.

This idea is a distinct possibility if we pick up 3 or 4 Senate seats like many are now predicting, and at the same time hold our losses in the House to around 10.
