The US-Saudi relationship must be preserved – our national interest demands it
Fox News ^ | Oct. 16, 2018 | Jim Hanson

Posted on 10/16/2018 9:22:22 PM PDT by Innovative

The concerted efforts now underway to derail the improved relations between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia established by the Trump administration are unhelpful at best and dangerous to America’s national and economic security at worst.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is a reformer trying to modernize his country. The steps he has taken so far are unprecedented. Letting that progress fall victim to mistakes by his government and attacks from opponents would be a massive mistake.

The death of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi – a critic of the Saudi government, who has not been heard from since he entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul two weeks ago – was a tragedy. If the facts show the government of Saudi Arabia was responsible for his death it should be held accountable.

But the death of Khashoggi does not outweigh U.S. strategic concerns, which require that we maintain good relations with the Saudi government. We must react accordingly – not as a favor to the Saudis, but in our own national interest.

In the Middle East we must keep our eyes on the biggest threat in the region – the dangerous and virulently anti-American government of Iran, which poses a military danger to its neighbors and our ally Israel.

I agree.

I also read that Khashoggi was also associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization who wants to kill us all.

Hanson is right. Hopefully Graham and the idiot Rubio will see the wisdom of his words.

Excerpt from the article I mentioned in my post 3:

“In the tweet, Poole wrote: “I didn’t realize until yesterday that Jamal Khashoggi was the author of this notorious 1988 Arab News article of him tooling around Afghanistan with Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda co-founder Abdullah Azzam. He’s just a democrat reformer journalist holding a RPG with jihadists.”

One less Muslim Brotherhood terrorist is a good thing.

“Hopefully Graham and the idiot Rubio will see the wisdom of his words.”

Deep down (or maybe just under the skin) these two are anti-Trumpers. I guess Graham has established his “connection” with the ghost of John McLame. I didn’t know being “butt buddies” went beyond the grave, but it would appear that I was wrong.

Khashoggi was no good, and I’m glad he’s dead. But we are not “allies” with the Saudis because of our national interest. We are there solely because of the petrodollar. So we protect a backwards barbaric satanic feudal monarchy that murdered 3000 Americans and is THE leading cause of islamic terrorism around the world. We let them build hundreds of wahabbist mosques in America and bribe our political leaders from Bush, Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Cheney, Obama, etc. The Saudis are one of the most repressive nations on earth, still has slaves, and makes Iran look progressive, makes and Assad look like a wild eyed libertarian.
They are a lazy people and are not very intelligent as a result of their inbreeding.

After all the sophistry, we are merely whoring out our nations honor, and pretending it is for high minded reasons.

As long as any nation remains a hotbed of Mohammadanism, nothing good will ever come from it.

So Saudis still have us over a barrel and can get away with murder, literally. Great.

Obviously Kashoggi had to disappear for the American-Saudi-Israeli alliance’s sake. Nobody wanted to kill him and make a big mess, so they faked it, and we got the pastor back with plenty of photo ops in the bargain.

Who does that sound like?

Or is it my fevered imagination? Close?

The next shoe to drop?

Deep State bureaucrats will start leaking 2001 Intelligence reports that implicate Saudi government or Royal Family involvement in the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

Why the reports were suppressed for 17 years will interest no one in the mainstream press.

The only important question for the MSM - which will be asked 24 hours a day - is “What is Trump going to do about this outrage?”

Good reporting by Al-Fox news on behalf of Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal and the GOPe.

Nations are just like people. We are lessened and corrupted by every interaction with KSA. It’s a slap in the face to our founding and our founders.
You wouldn’t let your son hang out with an atheist doper homo kid covered in piercings who had been arrested a few times for abusing his grandparents. America is corrupted with this friendship just the way your kid would be.

Have you ever heard “ The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

Iran is our real enemy and Saudi also wants to contain Iran.

Still, one doesn’t torture people to death in one’s embassy. Even terrorists. (Well, there have been exceptions.)

Prince should have thrown some scapegoats under the bus by now... Maybe it’s a convoluted anti-Prince plot from SA plotters.

Nuke Saudi Arabia for 9/11 and for Islamic cult, not for Khashoggi. Instead, thank them for one less terrorist in the world. About 1.8 billion to still get rid of.

Khashoggi was a terrorist and I’m not sad he’s gone, but Saudi Arabia is not “reforming” and we don’t need their oil or anything from them. If they want to buy our fighter jets, our guns and other things then fine, but they’d better start doing a better job of actually putting Iran in its place in that case.
