Every year, nearly 45,000 people in America kill themselves. That is more than twice the number that die in homicides, and the numbers are increasing. There is one group in particular causing this spike - white, middle aged men. India Rakusen goes to Montana, where suicide rates are double the national average, to find out what drives so many of these men to despair and taking their own lives.

But the female narrator / interviewer conspicuously fails to address the role of radical feminism in this. For 30 years, we have been deluged with feminists shouting "we hate men." TV shows, books, news reports, education...everything has denigrated men and made them out to be buffoons and idiots. This has accelerated greatly the past few years and we have now gotten to the point where "academic" women are shouting "kill all men." This has to be taking a toll and this end-result is not surprising.

If you watch political commentators on MSNBC or CNN, they push anti-white / anti-male hate as a regular matter of policy. Much of mainstream media promotes the same anti-white male propaganda.
Its is becoming ever more obvious, and it can be very diminishing to someone who is confused and believes the media represents the views of the nation.
Probably quite a few, but being a white male has become rather undesirable in our culture. We have drummed manliness out as feminism has increased. Men have to have a purpose, a job, people to take care of in order to feel self worth. Why do you think beards are so popular now? Because men inherently want to express their masculinity that was given them by God. When men are not afforded the opportunity to act like men, despair follows.
I met a gal who seemed really nice a few years back - she was widowed, As it turned out, widowed many years before. Got a nice home as a result; she remodeled it herself, she said.
Went on a date to find all this out, eat pizza watched cable movie. She mentioned that in the mean time she had had another boyfriend but he died a few years prior. Something creeped me out. She wanted to have another date.
Later I heard from her again. She had married a vet she was caring for as a Visiting Angel. He died as a result of something. She got VA care for life,his SS, and his pension as well.
Major creep out. Black Widow. Most single women my age seem like they were hit hard with an ugly stick.
In Montana? You be the judge of that.
Exactly right. A whole generation of white males being told “You are trash, you are nothing but a rapist, you should die” does take its toll.
I like that observation about beards — I had not thought about that before. It’s a sign of backlash against all the onslaught against men, men reasserting their masculinity in a small way. Makes a lot of sense.

The Sierra Club protected millions of acres of western forest land for a few spotted owls. Hundreds of unemployed loggers and sawmill operators lost their jobs, leading to depression not only of the economy in forestry industries, but of the men who used to work there. Unable to treat their depression, it leads to suicide.
The Sierra Club is fine with that. They may have saved a dozen owls.

Exactly right. When I was a kid in the late 50s and early 60s visiting relatives in Idaho, the northern part of the state was all about mining and lumber. Those industries are a shadow of their former selves. When I started my career, I did a lot of field engineering work in coastal Oregon where it was all lumber and pulp & paper. Today it’s nothing but Indian casinos.
The environmentalists killed honest work that paid a fair wage.
“White privilege.” —> Yeah, the nerve of those white guys expecting to have manly jobs available that pay a wage you can live and raise a family on.
