If you have to ask, you are not paying attention.
“When considering the media, always go with dumb.”
I am totally convinced that one of, if not the, most difficult talent to find in people is the ability to get a story straight. I know I have gotten it wrong plenty of times and I make a great effort to try to get it right. At least half the people I know could not get one, two, three, four straight, it would turn into three, two, four, one or something similar. Throw in a smidgen of actual bias and it becomes three hundred and forty two thousand dollars or some such. People tell outrageous stories without even intending to lie, they just cannot listen and understand, they cannot even read and understand, I have sat in school as a child and followed along as the teacher read from the same text I had in front of me and been amazed at how often the teacher read words that did not actually appear in the text. Couple that with the fact that simple logic is totally foreign to a large percentage of the population and you have the fiasco of current “news” reporting.
Neither. American journalism students have been taught that their primary purpose as journalists is to advance collectivism. Twisting the words of an opponent is perfectly moral as long as it helps the long-term realization of that goal.
