hen the Christine Ford saga finally ended with the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, a lot of truth had distilled out, along with the evaporation of prior pretensions and misconceptions.
The hearing confirmed that the traditional JFK/Hubert Humphrey Democrat party, as once envisioned by a Bill Clinton, Gary Hart, or Jim Webb, is long kaput. In its place is being birthed a hard-left progressive movement that absorbs the ideologies and methodologies of its base and that now incorporates all sorts, from Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist hipsters to Black Lives Matters, Antifa, and Occupy Wall Street protestors.

That’s the message that has to get out. It’s getting late in the game...voting has already started. Chipping away at the black and lower-middle class vote is a good strategy. That’s where the fear of “guilty until proven innocent” leads to lynchings (not all that long ago) and jail time.

It hit me as I read that article that one of two things will happen in the next six years:
1. The right keeps winning and the D party is destroyed, to be replaced by a more centrist party of adults.
2. The left starts winning and the United States is destroyed. And I don’t mean a few more decades of “going down a leftist path”. We are at the end of the leftist road. If the D’s in their current state gain control, this country’s demise will be measured in months. Not years and not decades.
Time will tell.

This is why I moved from Seattle to a farm in south central Kentucky in 2011. The good news is that homeschooling, social media, the internet in general, etc. are undoing the indoctrination of public schools. I understand the generation coming out of public school right now are far more conservative than their older brothers and sisters.
And, of course, ultimately, this life is a mist. Here today and gone tomorrow. One gets wrapped up in its cares at their own peril.
References to the effect that Diane Feinstein had “shot herself in the foot” with the late revelations in the hearings did not go far enough. With luck, they probably will get Kevin de Leon elected, and though he is no bargain, destroys the “senior Senator status of DiFi.
But worse for the Democrat party in general, the calculus of the entire election was shifted, and districts that normally would be comfortably Democrat suddenly became much more competitive, and marginally Republican districts then became a little more defensible. The “conventional wisdom” that the Democrats stood a good chance of taking over the House, if not left for dead, certainly got a serious kick in the head. A similar “blue wave” at the state and local levels is also not all that likely to be much more than a ripple.
The Democrats lost the “Mushy middle”, and the reliance on the female vote seems a little over-optimistic.
Democrats cannot count on the surety of the Black vote any more, and fully-employed Hispanics know which their bread is buttered on.

I am not nor have ever been a “never Trumper” but I initially believed that Trump would prove to be far more liberal than he made himself out to be.

The Left starts winning, but the people in left-controlled districts begin feeling an uncomfortable "this isn't what I voted for" sense of dread. This leads to internal strife, as traditional Democrats fight to take back control of the part, while the Right watches. The Left's winning streak begins to wane, and the Right entrenches itself for the next decade.
