Democrats were cheered by the renewed FBI investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and counted it as a win. Most Republicans were dismayed that the full Senate's vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court was delayed and saw this as a political misstep.
They should change places.
First, while the politically attuned understand this is just a delay game by the left, who are on record as willing to do anything to derail this nominee and force the appointment to be made after the November election, swing voters and many women do not.
For them, there is no reason to not look further. The “why rush? It’s for a lifetime” argument resonates as do their own experiences. This past week countless of men have learned from many women just how prevalent the alleged behavior and how much worse it is. This includes those in my own family who hadn’t known I was a victim of sexual assault in high school and just after college when I was the victim of rape.
Independents, Millennials and many women want to know: Why hasn’t Mark Judge answered more questions? What do other classmates say? Is the GOP going to be fair to what they saw as sincere testimony by Dr. Ford?
President Trump is astute and understood ahead of any polling, that for these people, rushing a vote without more FBI vetting would leave Kavanaugh’s legitimacy perpetually undermined on the court.

Rape is crime. When someone does it to you, charge them with the crime. Gather evidence and build your case with the help of an attorney. It’s 2018. Not 1918.
I think someone like Barrett would've folded or withdrawn her name, or wouldn't have the support from people like Collins due to her pro-life stance.
There'll be no more Borkings or smears after this folks. The Left have completely burned up this card. Barrett, should she be nominated to replace RBG, will of course be opposed on judicial writings or legal grounds by the Democrats. But they won't bring up false allegations against her.

Supposedly the dumbest 10% of voters that still somehow manage to vote decide all elections based on who can sway them that cycle. No matter the result, con or lib, pub or dem, it was supposedly decided by who could sway the dumbest 10% of voters.
They don’t decide on any sort of rational political philosophy they can express, just on who could sway them for non-rational reasons like who was ahead in the polls or who the media liked in a debate, or how a candidate dresses.

It was Republican complacency and the belief that there was no way Democrats could ever win because Hillary lost.
I could feel it. There was no energy on our side. Just a lot of pooh-poohing the polls. "Chill out man. Don't worry. All the polls said Hillary would win!"
Kavanaugh changed that. Lit a fire under our asses (I hope).
I think they will try it again, but it will fizzle out so fast nobody will even notice.
Don’t count on it. The left has lost all restraint!
