Candidate for Washoe County Sheriff, Heidi Howe, has filed a lawsuit against the Washoe County Sheriff's Office for alleged gender discrimination. According to court documents, Howe had filed numerous complaints in the past for retaliation and several instances where she was passed over for promotions.

I do not know any of these folks personally, never knowingly met any, haven't heard any local, personal mention of them by anyone. Curious.

Jerry Cossio, not on my list but on Reno Gazette Journal list. Spends a lot of time stating he is latino and racist organizations and roles in them that he has had. Unsurprising for a latino racist, he says not to ICE. Favors teachers, volunteers, and more to be armed at schools. Supports 2nd amendment. Even is quoted “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” Okay, mixed. Watching.

Allan Fox. Keep relationship with ICE as it is now. Apparently turn over requested illegal aliens. Doesn't speak of identifying them to turn them over. Not clear on arming people in school, though I guess his "I would tell anybody, if you want to survive violence, get away from it." He talks about cost of training and arming teachers.

Ah, interesting: Regarding question, What do you think about the push for gun control? He answers: "I believe in rights, and I believe in responsibilities. I have guns. I grew up with guns. I never accidentally fired my gun when I didn’t mean to. As a community, we have a responsibility to do background checks. I think they need to be more thorough. If I’m sheriff, and someone with a CCW enters a school, and they do something irresponsible with a gun, that CCW will go away.

I’ve never seen a crime committed by a person with a CCW. To get a CCW you have to go through the training and go through the background checks. I think background checks work really well when they’re done properly.

Would add sufficient concern for the training and well-being of her officers and the ability to think quickly and effectively under life threatening circumstances.

In her reported 26 years of service in LE, that ought to be a matter of record. Upper body strength, or lack thereof, should not be in play anymore than any traits of lezboness if there is no history of her officers complaining.

An LEO friend on the Sparks PD suggests Darin. Again, lesser of all the evils? Who knows any more. Seems like they give approvable talking points when needed. Or no real answer at all. Now, if someone would suggest ALL campaign signs MUST be removed within 5 days of Election Day.............. Yeah, gettin’ pretty tired of them.

Adam Hopkins, his face looks familiar, I think I've met him before. Continue cooperation with ICE. If illegal, they are theirs. "I believe we should be arming teachers (who want to be armed)." Regarding 2nd amendment, he writes: "I am fully in support of enhanced background checks. I have no problem with that. It doesn’t matter to me whether we ban bump stocks or not because you can create the same action without using any enhancement. If someone wants that, they can do it without a bump stock. I believe there are very, very few situations where a citizen would have an automatic weapon unless you’re in the military."
