Joe Manchin: I’m Looking at Kavanaugh’s Life ‘from 22 to 53’ to Decide Vote
Breitbart ^ | 10/04/2018 | Jushua Caplan

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) signaled in an interview published Thursday that decades-old sexual misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh will not play a major role in his vote on the judge’s Supreme Court confirmation. Manchin, a key Democrat swing vote, lamented the Senate Judiciary Committee’s handling of its investigation into allegations against Kavanaugh, describing the previous few weeks as “horrible” and a “circus.”

“I am looking at the gentleman as an adult from 22 to 53, thirty-one years of professional service,” Manchin told Al-Jazeera. “I am looking at him as a father. As a person in a community, how he interacts with his community. I am trying to put the human side to it.”

The red state Democrat made similar remarks told Fox News’ Chad Pergram Wednesday afternoon.

Manchin’s remarks come as Democrat Senators have begun ratcheting up criticism of the FBI’s findings. Sen. Chris Coons (D-CT) expressed concern Thursday morning that the agency did not interview Kavanaugh or his first accuser, California psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford.

That’s a very non-comment comment on Manchin’s part.

Guess he’s still gauging the political wind.

Well, he DID say that he would look at his life from 22 to 53. Notice he DIDN’T say from 17 to 53. Not to trust a Democrat any farther than I can throw one, but he may be saying that he has been able to discount the Ford allegations. But, I may be wrong, too.

IIRC DJT carried WV by something like 70-25.If it was anything near that Manchin would be very wise to vote "aye" if he wants to be gainfully employed next January.

This statement, which appears to be an exact quote, seems to indicate that he's convinced that Ford was either lying or delusional.

Joe should Go!

There is no question of his professional life. If Joe is too partisan to see that and commit to vote for Kavanaugh, then Joe should Go!

He wants to be vote 52 for Kavanaugh. He dares not be vote 50 or 51.

He's deciding whether to join the parade after the street sweeper has passed by. I would almost rather have Flake vote no to keep it 50-50 to keep the red state Dems away.

Hey Joe are you too stupid to realize that you opened up a can of worms. Any Democrat nominated to the bench will be investigated from the age of two through the day he/she was nominated.

Manchin is a far leftist with ACU ratings far worse than Collins’s. He needs to be sent packing. The President should mount a full-court press in WV.

President Trump has visited WV 2 or 3 times to support Patrick Morrisey for US Senate. I appreciate his efforts; I'm hopeful of replacing Manchin with a Patriot.
