Probably not easily able to wire cartel money via Western Union. This way they could just walk it across the border like they do drugs. Build that Wall!

All we need is the Congress; the President and DoD, State, and Treasury; and a minimal Federal court system to check the powers of the other two branches. Send all the other functions to the states.

Here’s the controversy: Decentralizing includes Social Security, Medicare, and most of the FBI.

Regarding moving the AK Capital, there were six referendums. The issue boiled down to money. It would cost in the billions to relocate and build new facilities, and state residents wouldn’t go for that.

For one thing, imagine what one nuclear bomb would do to the American government.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You say that like it is a ‘bad’ thing....<: <: <:

I have lived in ‘Ground zero’ since early 60s - a little farther out now - but figure the LAST thing any enemy would do -other than a moral booster/killer - is disrupt THIS PRESENT GOVERNMENT.

Were I in charge of the dissidents, I would deem these fools get to act forever.

Can you imagine the ‘Chinese Fire Drill’ were the likes of Pelosi-Jackson-Feinstein-and the rest of the LIBs and their traitor like RINOs were in charge of mounting a counter attack???

He’s supposedly a radical leftist, but he actually has shown a lot of flashes of common sense and this is a good plan. It might also result in improving the infrastructure in Mexico’s smaller cities and bringing a little more law and order to them.

"Here’s the controversy: Decentralizing includes Social Security, Medicare, and most of the FBI.

Why controversial?? All of those agencies already have offices in every state. Given the ubiquity and speed of electronic communication, there is no reason NOT to do this.

“that our border is the safest place for it?” Yeh, that’s my guess too. Just curious if I was missing something 😊...

“This sounds like a plan that the US would do well to emulate.”

Only if the department let go of their current employees from the D.C. area and the new hires were from the local area. To do otherwise would be spreading the past from the wound to the rest of the body.

I’ve advocated this here for years. Move State to West Plains, Mo., etc.

It’s a wise idea. It’s the reason why the 1995 peace talks in Dayton, Ohio reached a conclusion to the war in Yugoslavia much more quickly than peace talks that take place in cities like Vienna or Geneva. Bureaucrats are addicted to their chic hotels/restaurants on the government dime.

Breaking up the Mexican Swamp.

An idea worth considering here. How many Deep State Resist bureaucrats will remain in their job if it’s moved to Dubuque, Iowa or Dothan, Alabama?

“...the plan could lead to an exodus of 2.7 million people from the metropolitan area of Mexico City.”

They won’t miss them. It’s been years but last time I was there, there were something like 20 million+ people in MC...with another 4-5 million that drove in to work everyday. It takes hours to drive across the city at rush hour.

Victor Davis Hanson suggested move Agriculture to Fresno. Eliminate it. Interior to Utah. The big ones to deep blue states thereby turning Virginia red.

This sounds like a plan that the US would do well to emulate. Get the concentration of government out of DC, spread agencies around, get more government employees living and working among the citizens whom they are supposed to be serving—seems like a winning proposition to me.

Agreed. Leave our Senators and Congresscritters in their home states, well away from the Swamp. Leave the agencies around normal people, rather that in an elitist enclave protected from the negative effects of government bloat. I would love to see President Trump put that vision in his agenda for Campaign 2020.
