West Virginia voters pressure Manchin to vote for Kavanaugh

West Virginia residents pressed Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin this weekend about whether he would vote in favor of Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

At the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival parade in Milton on Sunday, the senator marched alongside voters who asked him one after the other if he planned on voting or urged him to vote for Kavanaugh.

Manchin would only say that he would have a final answer to those questions by the end of the week. One parade-goer continually shouted Kavanaugh’s name, and Manchin would only say, “Thank you.”

Another yelled out, “Vote Kavanaugh!” and Manchin responded, “I hear you.”

One woman asked Manchin, “Are you going to vote for the judge?” Manchin only told her to wait until Friday for that answer.

Another voter told Manchin, “If you don’t vote for him, I won’t vote for you.” Manchin said, “I get that a lot.”

But I also doubt McConnell is smart enought to think of it anyway.

It's not that he's not smart enough, it's that he's TOO smart. He doesn't want to PO or put his colleagues and friends from across the aisle, on the spot. That would ruin the comity of the Senate.

UniParty forever!!!

The simple fact of the matter is Manchin will not be the 50th vote for Kavanaugh nor will any Democrat. He will only vote for Kavanaugh if the Republicans confirm Kavanaugh to save his seat in the mid terms. Thus he is useless to the Republicans. If he is reelected he will never vote for a Trump SC candidate. People in West Virginia must be reminded of this

There is no way Flake votes no.

Say what you want about him, but he did vote YES out of committee.

If he doesn’t change his vote, he’s toast.

A politician doesn’t say “no” to his constituents. He can only do that if he thinks a Blue Wave would save him.

Good luck with that bet.

“Donnelly has already said no.”

Then changed to undecided after the FBI supplemental background deal.

But will likely still be a no in the end.

Thanks for posting this.

The voters are putting pressure on Manchin in person. I love it. Better than phone calls to an intern or phone volunteer.

I’m still guessing Manchin and Flake are YES votes. Murkowski and Collins are NO votes.

No, whatever you do Joe, don’t stand up for decency. It’s like at the State of the Union where Joe wants to stand up but his swine Democrat handlers won’t let him. Back to BF WVa for you. No more high living in DC.

The Weak Sisters will vote as Mitch tells them to. He’s confident he has all 51 Republicans on board or he wouldn’t have scheduled a vote. The man can count them.

Failing New York Times has out a new hit piece:

Kavanaugh had an altercation in a New York bar in 1985. Hello, Marty McFly! Considering no one was arrested and no charges were filed, its ridiculous.

Search and destroy, indeed

Next the NYT will file a report to find out if Kavanaugh dumped into his Pampers as a baby. I kid you not.

Flake is a no vote. His best friend now is Senator Coons. So that means we can lose one of the sisters if Manchin votes yes.

And this is why the rats are trying to push the vote past the election.
