The FBI has begun contacting people as part of an additional background investigation of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, including a second woman who alleges that the Supreme Court nominee sexually assaulted her, according to people familiar with the unfolding investigation.
The bureau has reached out to Deborah Ramirez, a Yale University classmate of Kavanaugh’s who alleges that he shoved his genitals in her face at a party where she had been drinking and become disoriented. It was not clear that agents had yet interviewed Ramirez. But the FBI is moving quickly to contact people as part of the new background investigation, which President Trump ordered on Friday under pressure from key members of his party.

Maybe a stall tactic but I am afraid someone is going to plant fake evidence against Kavanaugh.

Also, one tiny request by one of their lawyers asking for delay and postponement and time for more documents and testimony affidavits-—and it will be Halloween 2019 before the FBI finishes a preliminary report to the DOJ.
haha, exactly. theoretically lying to the Senate is the same as lying to the FBI, but I think everyone assumes the Senate will ignore massive lies..
She should be put under oath although 18 USC 1001, which does not require questioning under oath, can potentially result in a prison sentence up to 5 years and/or a fine if you lie to the FBI (or any other govt investigative entity).
The FBI is not investigating a crime. They’re doing a background check.
A lawyer never asks a question he doesn’t know the answer to, does the same apply to lawmakers asking for investigations when they already know the conclusion.
I get the feeling this is a trap. I do not trust the FBI. Never have, never will.
Trump has been supporting the FBI field teams all along. His beef is with the senior leadership. I think the FBI probably like Trump and would like to get their credibility restored with the public and will do their best to get the job done as requested and on time.
So the rumor I heard about a “tallywhacker lineup” are true? Or do you think they’ll issue wanted posters with police sketch artist drawings of what she can recall about the offending member?
