IIRC Federal judges are impeached and removed from the bench in basically the same way that Presidents are.If I’m correct in this assumption what are the chances that two thirds of the Senate will ever vote to “convict” him? I’d say not very good.
I am concerned that they wanted the FBI investigation for other reasons.
Sen Leahy wanted Bush documents from when Kav worked there. It has to do with a Republican Aid who had access to a shared server with dems and repubs who leaked a draft letter from Leahy regarding their plan to interview judicial candidates.
He was asked if he knew (in Sep) the letter was stolen. A Repblican Senate staffer sent an email to Kavanaugh during the period when Miranda was taking information from Democratic senators. This email had the subject line spying and it informed Kavanaugh that we have a mole within the Democrats ranks that was providing Republicans with information.
Kav said no. Leahy thinks he committed perjury. This FBI investigation might lead to getting those confidential documents that Grassley refuses to release.
