What is wrong with leaner pigs-that pork is delicious and healthy-when it is available, we buy pork from neighbors who specialize in raising healthy, lean pigs-the grocery store in the nearest town also caters to those of us who are healthy food types-grass fed, no growth supplements, lean free range meat-including pigs-I thought we were supposed to eat lean meat because it is healthy-this is just more global warming bullsd***...
Any excuse seems to be acceptable to raise the price of something,much of which is overpriced already. If it’s something we can get along without(I get along OK w/o bacon)then the ploy won’t work.
The feral hogs in this area are HUGE. Don’t want to hit them, they’ll destroy your truck (several of my farmer friends will attest to that). They are so numerous, one friend shoots them at night, and got over 30 one night in one of his grain fields. GW not hurting the population explosion.
Uh, no. Look at some old pictures of pigs from the early last century and older. Gigantically fat pigs before any "additives" were ever even thought of. Reason is that hog lard was THE majorly-used cooking fat. That ceased to be true when hydrogenated vegetable oils became commercial. To get a fat pig, all you need is food.
I grew up on a farm and actually raised pigs (4H), and studied hog breeds in Vo-Ag (required of all males) in high school.
Plenty of huge feral hogs out here too-if one of my neighbors shoots one marauding a cornfield or apple orchard, I am fortunate enough to share in some nice, lean smoked pork that I barter some home grown veggies or herbs for-no global warming damage here-a lot of people started raising those small potbellied pigs to sell as pets, so now there are so many of them that they are being butchered and sold as food-they are really delicious...
