My husband read that seat had been Democratic for past 139 years.
Exactly what I was thinking. ( Intelligent people sometimes have no common sense.) DC is not a resort, after all.
We were there for my anniversary this August. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Would highly recommend the Trump Hotel restaurant in DC.

More info on how the restaurant handled it ...... management immediately escorted Cruz and his wife to a private room for safety, called the police.....
The protesters soon left and the Cruz’s resumed dinner and a quiet evening....

Probably Lombardo’s at W. Florissant and Riverview. Seems I remember they did keep their doors locked at the end. They moved out by the airport several years ago. Their Lasagna is the best I have ever tasted.
There are now no fine restaurants near Bellefontaine Cemetery. There were a couple in the Baden area, but they too have closed.
I grew up just to the west of there in Jennings, and my folks stayed there until 2012 when my Mom passed. It was always a lower income working class area, but a good place to grow up in back in the day. It was terrible to see the area deteriorate. Drug gangs took over the neighborhood and to see the boarded up homes and vacant spots where my childhood friends lived was heartbreaking.

Updated info (or disinfo as the case may be) indicates that the staff ejected the rioters and the Cruz family returned to their meal. No comment (yet) from Cruz, that I've heard about.
They both finished their meal.
