I think Grassley may be handling this situation much more adroitly than I have thought previously.
At this point, not even the liberal media can honestly claim that the hearing has been rushed.
Whether or not she appears on Thursday, it’s a win for the Republicans. If she fails to show up, it is an admission she has no evidence. If she does show up, she will be destroyed by whatever female prosecutor questioning her.
The Democrats badly overplayed their hand and have motivated the Republican electorate to show up and vote. This farce many even demotivate the Democrat base because most Democrats see this process as an abortion of justice.
Since she is not on trial for any charges, she really doesn’t need to worry about getting a “fair and credible hearing”. Only Kavanaugh has his life on the line here.
Feinswein doesn’t want to be busted for withholding evidence and suborning perjury.
Grassley will be begging her to show up, and he will concede anything necessary to get her there. Then Flake, Murkowski, and maybe Collins will vote him down becaus her testimony was “very credible,” even if it is utter trash.
Everyone’s mind is made up already. The testimony will do nothing to change that. Her testimony will only provide an excuse for what they intended to do anyway. Anyone who has not already made up his mind is brain dead.
If she doesn't testify they paint it as her fear of the evil White Men in the Senate and it pumps the democrat crowd up way more than seeing democrats flooding the news show to explain away her weak testimony.

Additionally if the GOP caves and Mr. Kavanaugh doesn’t get and up or down vote by the US Senate assembled, come November, I won’t show up.

Here’s the thing we are all missing and it’s this, why hasn’t this woman been on the cable news shows peddling her story?????
She has plenty of friendly venues to go where she will not get any tough questions and she can tell her story over and over.
Is it because she is afraid or is it because she has nothing and I mean nothing to backup anything she says. All we have is that famous letter she wrote and nothing else. No one has seen her, interviewed her, and all we get is communications from her lawyer.
