All talk.

Without 67 votes in the Senate, they’re just going to have to live with it.

No Supreme court Justice has ever been removed (only one impeached in the early 1800’s), even though there have been several that certainly deserved to be

Agree 100%. This is the sound of the Dems acknowledging defeat. They know impeachment is unlikely, but talking about it provides a smoke screen to cover their retreat.

Here is the convoluted reasoning - If Kavanaugh IS confirmed, then that act will energize the Democrats and the left to such a degree they will gleefully pursue vote fraud in as many venues as they can get away with, and the turnout will appear to be much larger than ever. The Republicans, satisfied that they have won yet another round for Trump, will be much less motivated, and some may even stay home, believing mission accomplished, their help not needed as this was an off-year anyway.

Once the dust has settled around the election (and that is by all means still very much up in the air), the Democrats hope to have a majority in both House and Senate, allowing talk of impeaching Justice Kavanaugh to go forward, priority just behind Vice President Mike Pence and their biggest target, President Trump himself.

They had be very careful how they spend their ammunition. If you shoot at the King and miss, the consequences may be a little too gruesome to contemplate.

No longer government “Of the people, by the people, for the people”.
