First time in a long time I have agreed with an NR article.
Ford’s lawyer Katz demands remind me of Hillary trying to deny Nixon the right to council during Watergate.
And why won’t Feinstein release an unredacted copy of Ford’s letter that set all this in motion?
1. Maybe the letter contains statements that would weaken the Dims efforts to derail the nomination.
2. Maybe Ford insisted on anonymity as a condition of releasing any of her claims and was betrayed.
Probably several more possibilities.

This is why Fineswine wont give Grassley a copy of the letter. Fineswine needs to get bounced off the committee.
If this is going to be the new standard, it should apply to everyone in government.

If I understand correctly??? it is not just a matter of indicating whether she might show up Monday AM. I think Senator Grassley gave her until 10AM today (Friday) to file her written testimony (statement) with the committee. That allows the committee (and aides) the weekend to prepare for her Monday testimony. If the statement is not there by 10AM today, she has not complied to testify on Monday.

But I disagree. this is totally about warding off any Conservative (especially white males) from treading onto “Progressive” Territory, meaning the Supreme Court or serving in any other capacity without ‘their’ consent.
Fox still airing Ford’s conditions with no new information on where things stand. If that is Ford’s only response, Grassley should reject it one hour from now and schedule a committee vote.
Hope the Republicans don’t cave and extend this thing any further.

If the pubbies have any balls, they will go ahead with the hearing on Monday with or without the good doctor. Just before Kavanaugh is set to testify, a pubbie will ask the chair that Senator Booker not be allowed to question Judge Kavanaugh on this matter as he is clearly conflicted, then enter into the record Senator Booker’s own writing that states he groped and fondled women while in college.
Senator Grassley turns to Senator Booker and asks him to defend himself why he should be allowed to question Judge Kavanaugh with his own incriminating charges. Two can play this game...
The reason that she only wants senators to question her and not an outside attorney, is that she knows the Dem senators will amplify her BS and the GOP senators will kiss her ass out of fear of the optics of shredding her testimony.

This one woman is trying to turn American Justice system on it’s head.
Assistance from DiFi is certainly something that has to be looked at for further criminal charges. DiFi has stepped into the tar pit this time, IMO. Time for her to pay for her behavior.
Ford has turned her OWN LIFE upside down...no one did this for her except her. If she never has another paycheck, it is OK with me.

The biggest casualty of this whole mess will be that when women legitimately are assaulted, authorities will be skeptical of every word. That puts us all back to about 1959 or so....when women didn’t come forward after being assaulted.
Set up the empty chair & bring in Clint Eastwood to do the ‘unbiased’ questioning.

I have NEVER seen a single episode of Perry Mason where the DEFENDANT is questioned first in a courtroom procedure.
Do ANY of those lawyers ‘assisting’ Ford even have a license to practice law?????
Yes; they should vote without hearings.
Just before the vote is called, Grassley needs to play video of Obama saying, “Elections have consequences. We won, you lost. Get over it.”
