It’s more than that, the committee’s lawyers do the real questioning before the hearing and she won’t allow that.
This absurd set of demands violates the most basic precepts of due process of law that are even applied in administrative proceedings. It must be denied out of had and the hearing immediately scheduled.

2. Betty Ford then sits down and testifies under oath: "Oh -- I didn't write that letter."

Oh, and maybe the NYT.

The part about agreeing to buy the Brooklyn Bridge and pay in cash to Feinstein is the demand that bothered me.
And letting Ford choose the luxury car of her choice in which to drive home from the hearings was over the top.
