This goes along with the $3.8 BILLION STREET JUNKIE BILL the Senate passed yesterday with only Sen. Mike Lee voting NO. The House passed HR 6 last year with NO PUBLIC NOTICE. It has had a DEVASTATING EFFECT IN PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR ALL ILLNESSES AND ALL CONDITIONS INCLUDING CANCER. Cancer Patients are having to go to 10-20 Pharmacies to fill an Oncologist Pain Script. ER have been impacted, surgeries, this bill will make it worse.

It will have to be Reconciled with HR6 CALL YOUR US REPS, we will have no pain meds for our War Wounded, Cancer, or Sick. Would you like to go through 4th degree burns with NO PAIN meds? That is happening. We honest patients are being treated like criminals because we have Intractable Pain diseases. And it includes Benzos for Panic/Anxiety and Seizures.

This is on top of the $91 Million President Trump provided and the Millions hid in this years Farm Bill.

If you traffic (meaning distribute to others, even if money didn't change hands) even small quantities of any morphine derivative (natural or synthetic),cocaine in any form, meth or ice in any form should warrant the DP.

Seems like this would just speed up the process of going from morphine to heroin (where you don’t require a prescription).

Expert calls US opioid epidemic a 'poisoning by international entities'

Harvard Medical School professor Bertha Madras said on Tuesday that the opioid crisis has its roots in the international drug trade, calling it an "epidemic of poisoning by international entities."

"The trans-shipment of fentanyl into our country has really made the opioid crisis far more dramatic, far more drastic than we've ever seen before," Madras, who serves on President Trump's commission on combatting the opioid crisis, told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball on "Rising."

Madras said the issue began after the U.S. pharmaceutical industry pushed the idea that opioids could safely cure chronic pain.

"After that, when the controls began to tighten on the supply of opioids, there was a shift toward heroin, and then the producers in China began to produce a much more potent form [of] opioid, which is fentanyl," she continued. "Since 2013, it has been fentanyl that is developing the lion's share of causes of death."

"We now have an epidemic of poisoning by international entities, international drug cartels, and that's one of the biggest problems we have currently," she said.

202.224.4944 Sen. Lamar Alexander Sen. Alexander on Opioid Crisis Response Act of 2018 (OCRA)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXDXmyqL-xo&feature=youtu.be 1. The STOP Act – Stop illegal drugs, including fentanyl, from coming across the border through the mail

2. New non-addictive painkillers, research and fast-track

3. Blister packs for opioids, such as a 3 or 7-day supply

4. More medication–assisted treatment

5. Prevent “doctor-shopping” by improving state prescription drug monitoring programs

6. More behavioral and mental health providers

7. Support for comprehensive opioid recovery centers

8. Help for babies born in opioid withdrawal

9. Help for mothers addicted to opioids

10. More early intervention with vulnerable children who have experienced trauma

List the reason why these options are not viable, Blister packs cost more, 1) it will take years to get new meds thru the FDA Process 2) Suboxone and Methadone are already failures. 3),Seniors, those with hand issues won’t be able to open blister packs. When Predisone went to the Blister pack cost went up 4 times over the loose pills and taste horrible compared to the loose ones. 4) the rest apply to Drug Addicts not Intractable Pain Patients.

This is the testimony they are relying on Kolodoney owns Suboxone clinics

Thank you. My son has had to take opioid for several years just to be able to work. It has become increasingly expensive and harder to get just the minimum of meds that help him get thru the day. I want him to be able to continue to obtain them legally and safely.

Socialized medicine only cares about keeping patient population expenses down so those in charge can keep their lavish government benefits.

What the author gets wrong is the wording. Chronic Pain is NOT the same as INTRACTABLE PAIN. Chronic pain can have alternative treatments. INTRACTABLE PAIN is 24.7.365 for the rest of your life.

Intractable pain, also known as Intractable Pain Disease or IP, is a severe, constant pain that is not curable by any known means and which causes a bed or house-bound state and early death if not adequately treated, usually with opioids and/or interventional procedures.

Chronic pain is defined as pain that lasts at least 12 weeks. The pain may feel sharp or dull, causing a burning or aching sensation in the affected areas. It may be steady or intermittent, coming and going without any apparent reason. Chronic pain can occur in nearly any part of your body. The pain can feel different in the various affected areas. CHRONIC pain is Temporary.

Know the feeling. I haven’t had a pain free breathe in 30 yrs. Osteoarthritis drugs was supposed to work on OA pain, what it did was destroy my GI tract. The Reflux meds, Steroids, Nerve Blocks gave me Osteoporosis. I now deal with a Degenerative spine with Stenosis and a Calcified Lumbar. Fibromyalgia a autoimmune. Neuropathy, Gastropresis, Barrett’s Esophagus which is a pre-cancer. All level 10 pain, no cure, no treatment. The 1 drug for Gastropresis is Reglan, Black Boxed for Neurological side effects is a 2 week drug, that just broke me out in Hives with 1 pill thankfully. I’ve spent the last 18 months rehabbing my dominate R hand, thumb surgery left me with no fine motor skills. Now the L thumb has blown, with double trigger lock and a torn ligament. Scared t0 death of a second surgery. Those OA drugs didn’t stop with destroying the GI tract they damaged my heart too.

My BIL, his 10 yr old grandson and the BIL’s younger brother all 3 have Duchene’s MD, his daughter has had 2 botched knee surgeries, she wants the leg amputated because the pain never stops and she has Lupus on top of it.

One of the freelance writers I know who picks these lies apart has EDS with Small Cell Neuropathy. Look up Roger Chriss and Richard Red Lawhern, Red is on FB, but not Roger.

Disease is no respecter of persons. Lady Gaga has Fibromyalgia, Venus Williams has Sjorgen’s all autoimmunes. Only difference is they can afford to pay top dollar for treatment and we usually can’t.

Thank you!

This whole "opioid crisis" is a farce. People need pain meds. Somehow the politicians have demonized legitimate prescription drugs because of a few junkies who will take anything.

The real issue is the illegal heroin, fentanyl, carfentanyl, and their various derivatives which are flowing into this country like sewer water from China and Mexico.

For some reason the legitimate prescription medication is intentionally getting lumped in with all the illegal stuff and being called a crisis. Yeah, it's a crisis of illegal stuff!

So to all those people who argue that the war on drugs is a big failure, why is it that places like Singapore, China, Malaysia, and many other countries don't have this rampant illegal drug problem? It couldn't be because they don't toy around with users and dealers, could it?

You poor dear. I don’t know now you feel about it, but I wish they would legalize marijuana for medical reasons. People don’t die from mj overdose. I know it isn’t enough to kill pain in all situations, but would help in a lot.

In other news, I read that ABC is going to kill off Roseanne in the new series by opioid overdose. Seems like a stab at a Trump supporter.
