How can you say that? If they control the committee they'll just refuse to schedule any hearings for the full two years. They'll play snit-for-tat over Merrick Garland.

In two years we could be seeing the final stages of the Impeachment trial for President Pence.
I have seen the “outline” floated on the blue blogosphere. Trump in 19, Pence by the end of 20.
The only way we get any USSC picks through is a solid majority in both Houses of Congress.

If they BOTH expire, then it becomes 4-2.
But more than likely, something shall have been done to get back up to full staffing.

Hmm, if Buzzi and Breyer buy the farm, that would leave a 4-2 Conservative majority. Would Trump really need to appoint any immediate replacements?
