LOL...I worked in China in the mid 70s for the better part of a year. At the plant I was helping start up, we had so many Wangs and Wongs that we nicknamed the “Short Wong,” “Tall Wong,” “Thin Wong,” and (my fave) “Whiskers Wong” (because of his long, thin, straggly beard).

I love that the Chinese have no political correctness. A popular appellation is still “Fatty,” as in “Fatty Wong.” And in at least a couple of movies I’ve seen, they call out to some stranger, “hey, Fatty, come over here,” and continue to call the guy Fatty throughout their conversation.

My Chinese wife shares the same name as an HK actress. The locals used to look at me strangely when I said I was married to Carol Cheng.

“At the plant I was helping start up, we had so many Wangs and Wongs...”

You know why the Wong couple got divorced?

Two Wongs don’t make a white.
