Apparently the author of the letter did not want to pursue the matter. Feinstein, while claiming to support the author, nevertheless pursued matters against the author’s express desires. The FBI, by the end of the day, determined this was a dry well and sent the information to the WH to be included in the judge’s file.
And it was so important she didn’t do anything with the information until just before the vote on the nominee - she didn’t report it when she received the letter, not a month later, not two months later, not during the hearings, etc. It’s so important that on the eve of the vote she “give is to the FBI” to create headlines about. If she truly felt it was important she would have given it the President immediately and ask him to reconsider the nomination before going through all of this. It’s totally bogus.
I cant believe she would even talk about it except to joke about it. She should tell Feinstein to shut up.
I reported DiFi’s WW2 hairdo to the fashion authorities decades ago...guess they thought it wasn’t offensive enough to launch a full investigation but, she wasn’t up for Supreme ct nom.
Yes, but why write the letter if she didn't want someone to pursue it? If she didn't want to pursue it, she would not have written the letter, and the story would have been an interesting cocktail party tidbit she could share whenever Kavanaough's name came up for discussion.
