President Trump is ready to announce Princeton physicist and leading climate skeptic Will Happer as his senior tech adviser.

According to CNN:

William Happer, a Princeton atomic physicist and prominent skeptic questioning whether humans are causing rapid climate change, is joining the National Security Council as senior director for emerging technologies, according to NSC officials.

Happer, 79, is an emeritus professor of physics at Princeton who served in the Department of Energy under President George H.W. Bush in the early 1990s. He did not respond to CNN’s requests for comment.

This will be both a tremendously sensible appointment and a superb piece of trolling by the president.

Already, greenie heads are starting to explode in outrage:

No doubt they're argument is "He's 79 years old. What does he possibly know about climate?" Beginning to sound like a pop corn popper around here. And, I loves me some pop corn. ;-) Back in the late '20's and early 30's, my dad and granddad used to cut ice blocks out of the Hudson River up around Athens NY. Does the Hudson even freeze like that anymore? Must be global warming right?

But he’s a Scientist, so if you disagree with him you’re anti-science. Thus spake the Left.

Climate change is a fact. That is why we get ice ages followed by global warming on an ongoing cyclical basis.

But MAN MADE climate change is unproven hoax and bombastic hyperbole.
Because every BTU of external thermal energy earth receives is from the Sun which is 1,300,000 times bigger than earth. Earth is like a speck of sand on a large beach compared to earth.

And man is just a speck on earth! Those astronauts circling earth just a hundred miles high orbit can’t see a single man made object. Considering earth diameter is 8000 miles, 100 miles is not a distant orbit.

Therefore to claim man is causing global warming is obviously highly bombastic exaggeration of human power.

"But he's a Scientist"

Not relevant. The article points out that he worked in the energy dept under GHW Bush and GHW Bush signed the global warming treaty and the senate ratified it.

He wasn't relevant then and he is not relevant now.

All over the USA and all over the world renewable energy is gradually replacing fossil fuel. Every nation in the world signed the COP21 in Paris in 2015.

“Every nation in the world signed the COP21 in Paris in 2015.”

A very scientific argument. Which of these nations managed to lower emissions?

“not relevant”

Relevant. Don’t mess with success.

The relevant question is where does a nation stand relative to the commitments made.

I understand your phony logic but cutting in half the CO2 from coal doesn't qualify as success. You still have a long way to go and the plan that you support will only raise CO2 levels.

So sonny boy, your plan is critically insufficient.

“The relevant question is where does a nation stand relative to the commitments made.”

So where do the other nations stand relative to commitments made? Or is that not a “relevant question”?

Everybody has until 2100 and most expect new technologies or improved technologies to come along, but in the meantime, most nations are ranked at various degrees of insufficient.

But only one nation is officially seeking to increase emissions

My guess is he ongoing forest fires on west-coast are spewing more CO2 in atmosphere than all the coal burning by humans in a decade.

“But only one nation is officially seeking to increase emissions”

News to me. Officially, by what percentage do we seek to increase emissions?
