This is what John Mayall called “accidental suicide” in a song of the same name.
Yes that struck me too. Hes dead, so how do you cite someone legally speaking, if hes dead?
—
“How do you plead? Guilty or not guilty.”
“...”
“Please speak up Mr Mateo.”
This move is legal in SoCal. Its called splitting the lanes. Riders are occasionally killed and their loved ones have been noted as saying but splitting the lanes is legal. It may be legal but it isnt smart.
I wondered, too. Bring it to the funeral and pry Mateo's hands apart and put it there? Or throw it into the grave?
Probably similar to Liveleak videos. It’s eye opening how many riders die with or without a helmet.
Recieving a citation whe dead is childs play compared to voting after death.
Departed is as good as deported when it comes to fraudulently documented foreigners.
Well it may be legal to split lanes while moving, splitting Lanes is intended to bypass stopped traffic
We’re all lucky if we can get through our young and foolish years without getting killed on a motorcycle, getting a tattoo, or getting married to the wrong woman.
You need to be prudent.
Taking risks can cost you, as this guy proved.
If he was cutting off other motorists, he may have been urged on by his actions, to leave the folks he cut off in the distance behind.
Well, this was the last screw up he’ll ever make.
Motorcycles should be banned from the highway and redesigned as street transportation with a maximum speed capability of 40MPH. I have seen too many of these easy rider wannabes endanger others with their bike moves in traffic. I don’t care about the stupid biker, but the other motorist should not have to pay the emotional cost of having killed one through no fault of their own. The life of ONE law-abiding driver is worth more than the right to act like a big shot on a bike.
Lol millions of bikers would disagree. Nice fantasy though. Got any other superb nanny state ideas?
Wow!
Liveleak.com has many many videos of people dying.
It’s not the bike.
I rode the ZX1200 Kawasaki Ninja for 3 years as the daily .. 2 years in the winter too.
Never had an issue. It’s not the bike - a powerful bike is necessary (Although the 1200.. Whew. My lord, I never really ‘twisted’ the throttle. That would be suicide. I squeezed it.) to ride.
All bikes are powerful. All bikes can be called “donor cycles” and a slow bike can be dangerous. Power stands the bike up in surprise corner maneuvers.
What gets me is that this guy was doing this at.. 7:00 am ? Wow, most people just drink a strong coffee.
The motorcycle is a natural extension of human movements. It moves at the speed of the mind. Riding at 25mph is more exciting than driving at 100.
people do stupid things on the bike because the bike becomes part of them. On a small enough bike, you will look forward and not even see it - it’s like you’re flying down the road.
And sometimes moving about in traffic is about as tough as walking down a hallway. And the result is the biker is threading through traffic. The world is different on 2 wheels. It just is. And if you don’t ride one, I can’t explain it to you. You’ll never understand it.
Bikers do all sorts of stupid things too. Tricks, splitting traffic to get to the front of a stopped line of cars (The WORST) and then they even involve passengers in their stupidity.
But riding a motorcycle is the safest method of personal transportation. There, I said it. The bike moves as an extension of your body. Your reactions are precise and fast. If a car “comes into your lane” There is so much space in your lane that it’s not a big deal. It’s like someone “coming into your lane” but your lane is 3 lanes wide. Yeah, it’s rude but it’s easy to deal with.
As far as crash cages and being thrown from a bike - yeah. I know that’s a thing. But people die in Volvos too. If you’re on a bike you can stop faster than anything on the road (Faster than an actual race car dammit) and out accelerate and out corner everything else there is. There is no reason in god’s world that a biker should sustain such horrible injuries. No reason other than “They done effed up”.
They eff up mostly as I said in the first paragraph. They eff up because they simply forget that they aren’t a superhuman. Buses are like fat smelly people in a hallway. You can get by without touching them so a biker thinks that the buses are the same thing.
No one will convince me otherwise. Motorcycling responsibly is the safest form of transportation.
Oh, I bet he’s way too old for that. At 29 I’d bet on at least 2 baby mamas.
Category 1 Bold Motorcyclist
Category 2 Old Motorcyclist
Category 3. Bold Old Motorcyclist
This guy was in Category 1 obviously. Category 3 is mythical like unicorns.
“this could never happen in CA where they issue drivers licenses (valid photo ID) to illegals all the time.”
They probably wouldn’t be able to identify the rider with that as he probably doesn’t look like the picture any more. There will have to be a lot of police work there. But the bike has a vin number. Wouldn’t it be nice if the illegal did too?

I think all of society just won all the way around on this one.
