An independent investigation into sexual misconduct at a New Hampshire prep school has now substantiated abuse claims against 20 former faculty and staff members dating back decades including a former Massachusetts congressman.

St. Paul's School released two reports in 2017 detailing allegations against 17 people who worked there between 1947 and 1999. An addendum released Tuesday includes the names of three additional people who allegedly committed abuse between 1967 and 1988.

The most prominent among them was the late Massachusetts Congressman Gerry Studds, who was described as preying on male students.

I looked. It’s not who you (probably) think.

I didn’t mention it in the comment because it’s irrelevant (and I wouldn’t want to come off as saying “see, it’s not just the RCC...”)

Re: Gerry Studds, per Wikipedia;

He was the first openly gay member of Congress. In 1983 he was censured by the House of Representatives after he admitted to an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old page.

Oh what a relief for you, it’s corrupt perverted high church Protestant, not corrupt perverted high church Catholic. Sigh of relief there, I’m sure.

The priest who tried to tongue kiss me when I was 28 years old was Episcopalian.

Married man, four daughters, former disciplinarian at a school for troubled boys...

Instead of posting about what you don't know anything at all about, I suggest that you look such things up...before you make a fool of yourself on a thread!

St. Paul's, along with General Dummer, Exeter, Andover, Hotchkiss, Middlesex, Groton, Deerfield, and many other ELITE boarding schools, were once all male school, all of which were "feeder" prep schools for the Ivies and other top colleges/universities. There were and still are those that were /are all girls, and some that always have been co-ed.

Most such school have been church ( PROTESTANT...Episcopal, Methodist, Presbyterian ), from their beginnings; though many of the all girl prep/finishing schools weren't church affiliated.

And before you start to poo poo/insinuate nasty things about such institutions...the are nothing at all like parochial day schools of any religion, nor public schools. Though I can't speak, with any expert knowledge re today, I can tell you that these most of these schools once provided the highest education that money could buy ( and yes, it takes a lot of money to send children to any of them ), bar none!

I’m sure you know all about this as you know all about every single thing that ever has been discussed on this site. You once were a good Freeper, but sadly something has happened to you.

I do suppose you’re heard of a leading question, and can tell us all about that too. Maybe lock your caps, that always adds credibility.

No, I do NOT know about everything ever on FR and have never claimed that I did/do!

But I do know about these schools.

Don't try to play silly games with me! That wasn't a "leading question" at all; it was blatantly obvious by your posts to this thread just what you were, at first, and then obviously doing.

FYI...this really has nothing to do with religion nor sects of a religion. And your sniping at one or two specific branches of Christianity is putrid.

I'm still a good Freeper; unlike you.

Well, seeing as how it was posted by a Catholic let’s just say I had a feeling that it wasn’t. Our fellow brothers and sisters across the Tiber have made a habit of deflecting and posting about any other sexual abuse than what’s going on in their own house. Pity, that. Not a healthy habit.

Of course you do NOT. MORE CAPS PLEASE. Maybe some exclamation points!!!

Of course you know all about this topic.

You’ve turned into quite the crank, actually. Your personality has changed.

I have typed in the same manner, here, for just shy of 20 years; including the time when you claim that I was a good poster. It didn't bother you then.

Don't be upset; nobody knows everything about everything, but many posters do know about many different topics, including schools like St. Paul's, whether they went there or not and you'd be surprised at the fact that some of us actually went to one of these schools or sent/send their kids to one. But that later is true.

The fact that predatory teachers were caught out, at this school is bad enough; the fact that this is the second such news item, to come out this week ( at Hotchkiss ), that I've read about, is shocking and disgusting.

All male boarding schools have had a reputation for homosexual activity for as long as I’ve been old enough to be aware of such topics.

Ping me the next time you don’t know all about something, OK? I certainly haven’t seen it for the past several years. Truthfully you have changed. Too late to do anything about it now, though. Maybe first several hours it could have been reversed.

All of the same sex, ELITE schools I named and most others, went co-ed at least 2 generations ago; some longer ago than that.

Sexual abuse, in all male schools, whether they were boarding schools, colleges, or every nation's military throughout history, is a well known fact. Re schools...in most cases, long ago, it was between boys and usually not between teacher and student; though I don't doubt that that happened.

You get a lot out of one word, don’t you. Especially since I made absolutely no comment about your original sneer.
